You can e-mail the PD if you really want a character gone, they'll remove it if it's a good reason.
If not, you can always get the character to kill themselves by hitting themselves...
A suicide button plays into the hands of those players that would kill off their character because they didn't start in the right place...

No shit. Thats why I want it, instead of them causing havoc then scarpering off.
Better a player who cant play properly kills himself then ruins it for everyone else.

I agree, maybe some way of recording the amount of times someone does it. Would probably help the administrators to find whos not up to scratch.
But the way I see it, these people will find someone they like one day, either that or they will quit, so in the end we are putting them to better use in a place where they are happier playing in.

Maybe the commit suicide button could start a project that takes a number of days to complete. The character would 'hit' themselves every hour, causing injury. If the player then decided they wanted to keep the char, they could cancel the project but still be left with the injuries sustained during their suicide attempt.
Even if the voices aren't real...They have some pretty good ideas!

Maybe it was, I'm a bit too tired to really be able to tell.
I guess my point is, if you want to kill a char off, it could be automated. The effect would be the same as hitting yourself every day, you just wouldn't have to go in to that character each and every day to do so. Mind you, if it was automated, would anyone go in to the character page to discover that everyone was really worried about them?
Maybe it is a bad idea and I just got suckered in to it
Ah well, never mind. *yawns*

I thought this topic was made as a joke to paradox it being suggested before and being yet another one of those "rubbish" ideas.
If only you were right.
Unfortunately, I think he was being serious.

I think you should make it reasonably easy to die, but have any characters that die in any way leave a "Ghost" in the slot in their slot for a cantr year or two so they can't just keep respawning. If they have less than 15 characters (including ghosts) than they can spawn another, otherwise they can't,
Its probably a CRB, but I have actually kept a spawn and run thief alive, I feed him periodically, cause I figure he was being an idiot just to get killed and I don't want to reward him for being an idiot
