Animal damage

Postby InsaneIrony » Mon Nov 29, 2004 3:31 am

1012-2: You get attacked by a hawk, and you lose 1382 percent strength. You saved 18 percent using your wooden shield.

This has got to be a bug.. Right? Theres a huge chunk missing from my charrie's health now...
1099-5: Bandit says: "Collect a sum of 100 000g of sand to offer me in tribute or I will kill you."

Sounds like there's an extra couple of decimal places in there. Otherwise it would have been at 11.9 and you'd be a moose dropping.
Reality was never my strong point.

This bug has been reported and should be fixed soon. No, you did not actually lose that much strength, otherwise you'd have been dead long ago.

I was about to say:

1012-6: You get attacked by a mountain goat, and you lose 867 percent strength. You saved 33 percent using your iron shield.

This cannot be right

But I think someone has already noticed...

This should be solved now. Please mention further incidents if they happened after I wrote this post (NOT if you just noticed them after this post but they happened before).

I don't know, if these attacks happened afterwards.

1013-4: sheep atakas vin kaj vi perdas 381 percentojn da forteco. Via wooden shield rebatis 19 percentojn da perdo.

1013-2: Vous êtes attaqué par un(e) wild boar et vous perdez 2481 pour cent de vos forces. Votre wooden shield vous a épargné 19 pour cent du coup.

Should definitely be solved now, at least one of characters got the message: 1014-2: Vous êtes attaqué par un(e) wild boar et vous perdez 18 pour cent de vos forces. Votre wooden shield vous a épargné 12 pour cent du coup.
(= You were attacked by a wild boar and you lost 18 percent strength. Your wooden shield has blocked 12 percent of the damage.)

Looks right... I mean, the numbers appear reasonable even though this attack was not reasonable and a personal affront to my char ;-)

EDIT: Of course this change is only effective for those attacks that took place after 1014-2. Please don't report any erroneous event of this kind that happened before the change.

1022-6: You get attacked by a sheep, and you lose 0 percent strength. You saved 39 percent using your iron shield.

A sheep doing 39 percent damage, is that usual?

Nope... that's the damage your shield COULD HAVE saved.

At one point it meant the amount it did save (not more than the amount dealt). So that's no longer the case?

Erm... this is not exactly the same thing, but similar, so I decided not to start a new thread. Yay me!

Anyway, I was recently attacked by someone with a bare fist, and my shield supposedly saved 42% with my shield.... can a fist do that much?

read Jur's post - the number is what could have been saved - I guess that means that if the blow had been any harder than the value that your shield saved, the amount over that it was would be damage inflicted...
