Cleaning up old projects

I liked this and wanted to add to it here. Can we cancel projects that have resources used on them, but 0% work done? This makes sense if we think of applying the resource as a simple allocation towards the project without altering them in any way.

What I would like to see done to help clear the projects lists is to limit the number of repeats on a project to a more reasonable number. I hate seeing loads of potato projects with 91 repeats on them. Come on! Like we'll ever be able to finish that. Can't we just delete some of those and put a cap of say, 10 to 20 on new projects so it's a bit more reasonable to finish them up?

There's a way around doing all the repeats. I don't know if this is a thing you have to find out IC or not. :?:

You click the X button to not do the repeats. I do it all the time.

I don't think this is something you should have to find out IC.

If a repeat project 'turns over'; that is, starts again and is at 0%, you can just click the 'x' on the activities page and the project will be deleted. If it's beyond 0%, you won't be able to delete it until the project's turned over and is at 0% again.

Really? Thanks. I'll have to try that, West. I have a few of those huge projects I would like to get rid of but can't seem to get the whole town to work on.

But what about the idea of recovering resources from 0% completed projects. Has there been a good reason that I haven't been able to find to shoot that idea down? I think Dragonslayer could've used that a while back on his boat. You got any stone pots left to trade DS4E?

the 'x' button on the player page only removes your participation in that project, not the project itself.

The X button on the project (activities page), on the other hand...when the current repeat is at 0%...will kill the project entirely.

Before you used to be able to click all them x's on the activity page and then it processed it when you stopped clicking, and if the last one had work done it then it gave you an error message but it nevertheless removed the ones of those projects that had 0% work done or no resources added. But now you can only try such thing with a lesser amount of projects since the page refreshes faster and after a project is removed, the search results are cleared and also if you click back button then it still doesn't show the search list. So you gotta click to search projects again.

Sometimes I start a project use some resources on it then go to another location to get the necesary resources to use on it. It helps with storage since a few of my characters don't have a house or a locked one at least.

Therefore I disagree with the idea.

I think it was planned at some point to make all gathering/farming projects continuous, so you don't specify an end result, you just work on it, and as soon as you leave it disapears, but as for construction projects it would still be nice to be able to tear them down and get rid of them

(cue resurrection of all the previous threads on the subject)
