Although it is far more likely that the police will arrest you. Depends on the threat you pose I suppose - but there will generally always be some kind of police presence near any location with guards...

And about the money issue... I don't think it is a capital offence any more, even in theory. Not entirely sure though. I don't treason is a capital offence either now. Damn liberals...

Treason was still punishable by hanging, last I heard. Only death sentence in the country.

Hanging? That's not very civil...

I may well be out of date. But if there is any death sentence left in the country, it's hanging for treason.

I think you're not up-to-date. The EU doesn't admit any countries that still have the death penalty, even if it's for treason or hitting holy cows.

I believe, and I may be wrong, that the last crime punishable by death was arson in the Queen's ports, and it was changed some time in the 70s.

Am I close? :?

No, no. It's correct. Treason is the only offence in England punishable by execution.

Also just a bit of trivia for you, its actualy wtill legal to kill a Welshman in York city centre on a sunday with a longbow. Struth!

Isn't that only after sundown, though, Cookie?

And are you sure you mean York? I thought that was Chester or something like that. York's too far from the border...

Bear in mind, it specifies a longbow. You're not likely to be able to wield a full longbow. It takes most of your life to train to use one, from around 10 years old.

So unless you were to beat the welshman to death with the bow stave, it wouldn't count.

I'm sure I could find a welshman worth twenty years of my life. Pretty sure indeed!

The starting-very-young bit is as important as the length of time...

Longbow training actually twists the trainee to a point that can be very crippled, in some cases... and is necessary to use a longbow properly.

Ok then, if it is as you say so very hard. I will bring a herd of sheep to the Chester town centre and with the ammasing welsh crowds that gather I surely can't miss.

I heard it was after sunset yet before sunrise, and wasn't that in Chester. Perhaps there are two places it can be done :?:
