Characters who pretend to sleep, ignoring all attempts to roleplay... Only to wake up when you pick something up off the ground, attack you, spam out ten emotes at once, then run off "for reinforcements."

Either kill your sleeper off, or don't. It shouldn't be up to me to manufacture conflict and keep you entertained.

I can't decide if this is depressing or hilarious. :D

I feel like I am performing a valuable community service, giving these sleepers something to wake up and (briefly) live for.

Is it a revolutionary thought to just keep rape off the radio, out of my face, and stuff it in whatever dark hole these people live instead?

To anyone having NCS breaking content sent to them via radio or other means, send me a PM with the details.

The really unfortunate thing about the NCS rule is that whenever that subject comes up there's always the OOC knowledge that 'oh well, we all know they agreed to it' which is why it's so prevalent to question or blame the victim IG. Same situation with NDS and 'they wanted to die', but the latter doesn't have such uncomfortable RL parallels.

Extremely public victim blaming was how a certain town and certain character got a certain reputation to begin with, I remember even now being skeeved out by how that subject was presented...though iirc, like many situations in Cantr it was sort of amusing imagining actual politicians making official, public statements of that nature and what the RL reaction would be.

This is more about the unwilling participants (ie. other radio listeners and/or citizens) who had no opportunity to opt in/out of the content. Discussing rape isn't a breach of the NCS rule in itself until the discussion breaches actual explicit content. For clarification:

Player: He raped me. <-- not a breach of NCS
Player: He stuck his <bleep> in my <bleep> and <bleeped> me until I <bleeped> <- is a breach of NCS if the bleeps are of non family friendly content.. For clarity (and to keep it family friendly) the bleeps in this instance are: Flower, Hair, Hugged, Smiled.

As to the second part about that and letting outcomes be dictated by OOC, that is also a breach. Playing devils advocate here: just because a player agrees to RP such a thing, it doesn't mean the character actually wanted it to happen.

I am puzzled by the lack of racing in this game. You'd think someone would have organized a league or something.

Back in the day Teregotha used to have island races. Some on roads where each town was a checkpoint, and some just sailing around it.

What bothers me a lot in Cant II is to allow the gameplay and roleplay that happens in the game environment drain out, either in distant media, either in this forum thread. I would like the rule of 4 days was extended to 4000.
Cantr II is a social simulator. What is not working is due a problem in the society.
Cantr is like Vegas - what happens in the game should be in the game.

I remember your Morgan! Though Lori is dead now too >_<

This isn't really the topic to have this discussion in, but one of the probable causes is that a lot of inactive accounts were timed out recently. Perhaps it is also evidence that the people who yell loudest/most on the forums isn't the ones producing most of the in-game content? ;)

So... exactly how many then? Cause there -was- huge amount of deaths besides quitting players. Enough to make some towns to drop from +10 to under 5...

Not sure about that but after so many quit I feel like I as European have seen drop of activity around my best online time. And in general world is way much better.. Although radio is now something you can actually listen.. Cause it's dead silent too

A lot of game content now is still the sound of shovels , sighs and people feeding sleepers.

It stopped counting accounts that were only logged in once and never revisited. This eliminated about 200 players who never actually started playing in the first place. So I don't know why the difference in towns is so visible, because the actual amount of active players who quit was like 5 at most.
