Then he just disappeared even though almost all the dish collection racks were full. I found out he went home because his shift ended. They said I'm supposed to survive on my own until the next person comes in. I was already in the verge of a panic attack before they told me this. The lights seemed too bright and I was noticing every spot of dirt on the walls. This one female worker came to help out for a while, but then I had to survive on my own again. Come end of the shift, another worker bursts in and starts doing the dishes. I say my shift is supposed to end at 8pm and she says "so does mine but all the racks are full, so something has to be done about it. I figure okay, I can't leave yet, so I continue helping out in the clean end. Then the manager comes over and says weren't you supposed to finish at 8? So I finish maybe 5 past 8 and she asks me did I manage to do all the dishes in the racks. I say I definitely didn't, all day when one gets switched out, it's full by the time we get the next one empty. She just laughed. I wonder if this is normal for them. It seemed they were at least one person short. I worked there previously on new year's day and it was much more manageable.
