Just use repeats and it's exactly the same as a longer project except you've got the resources continuously rolling in. Though it took me a few days in the beginning tweaking projects by two or three grams at a time figuring exactly what the maximum was. (62 grmas an hour with a cleaver...can't wait to see what they can do with a proper axe)

And I can't hunt apparently because that tiny bit of tiredness is just enough to screw it all up.

Most of my characters do hourly projects, there's some exclusions. The worst thing about it is trying to coordinate other people that are helping you gather. Most of the time, I'll end up with at least 3 huge hourly projects, because no matter how many times my characters explain it, some well-meaning person joins up to help me gather my 10 grams an hour. And the worst part is when they realize I switched projects, so they'll switch to my new one.

When I get the people-joining-my-short-hourly-project thing I just start a new project and they usually just stay on that one project. Or, if I'm expecting to get people helping, I'll make larger projects, like 4-hour or something instead of 1-hour.

How I feel every time I'm forced to get off the internet and stop playing cantr when my characters are busy or something interesting is happening...

Why is it that this game seems full of sociopaths right up until I decide to indulge in an evil char and then it's just impossible to find like-minded chars to be murder-buddies with? Am I supposed to advertise on the radio or what?

If only that wouldn't bring out the vigilantes.

Not worried. When it comes to the radio, I'm pretty sure the vigilantes are all talk as much as the trolls are.

Advertising on the radio isn't really something the character would do anyway. And I was joking about the murder club, it's not like they're a blatant psychopath, I don't like playing that kind of character. I just decided they would be a bit of a sociopath with none of the traditional constraints of morality after they went two years without a chance to form any basic human connections to their community or anyone around them. Can't learn to have a conscience when there's nobody to teach you.

But everyone is basically pretty safe as long as they're not standing in the way of progress. (Specifically, mine.)

It would be nice to have a partner or two but the standard Cantrian cookie cutter morality will always be in the way.

I have one somewhat like that - lacks the ambition or provocation to do anything that would stand out as sociopathic at present, but cares nothing for others' lives and given a suitable partner and (if I get time to play more) an ambition for something bigger than what is currently in reach could be very dangerous.

Cantr can be depressing sometimes. I hate it when good people die, or if they fall asleep and won't die, that's even worse because you can't get closure, you just have to choose if you keep feeding them or not. In the past there have been cases where people had their character fell asleep without saying anything OOC or IC, which left me thinking "am I so awful company that you can't even say goodbye" or "did something happen to this player, are they in a hospital in a coma?" I have an urge to keep moving my characters to meet new people, even the few that are with someone, because if there's only one person in a character's life that matters, that's a very fragile situation because what's going to happen when that one person dies?

Out of my current characters:

- five are traveling alone (although one is currently visiting a location that has people)
- one is traveling with someone whose player gave up on them, so technically she might as well be alone
- one is traveling with someone and his world would collapse if she died, yet they only talk once a day
- one is traveling with several people but only cares truly about one of them
- one is traveling with a woman - he couldn't survive without her, yet there's something awkward about their relationship
- one is in a large town and interacts with people daily but still feels lonely
- one is staying in an almost dead town and only cares about one person
- one lives alone with a guy who has been rather silent recently. If he died, she would probably go insane and be a hermit
- one lives in a small town but feels sort of awkward there; only staying because of one person, and the farm animals
- one lives in a medium sized town, and one person is pretty much her whole world. If he would die, she would be devastated
- one has never formed a strong emotional connection to anyone, so she finds it hard to understand why people are so sad when others die

When someone is traveling alone, it's far too difficult to find someone to travel with, especially if you have to trust them with the keys and take the risk of them stealing your ship and life savings.

That's pretty much why none of my characters have relationships. I know that if a partner died, I wouldn't have the patience to act out any sort of grief, so characters stay somewhat distant.

To change life of my character (who simply believe that people are good) I took risk but still no one wants steal his life savings.
What I'm doing wrong SekoETC?
Perhaps it isn't too big of life savings.

Why not use that as an opportunity to invite ten people aboard a ship or van/bus? A fellowship of sorts. Either you get your wish or something magical happens.
