Gallows
i rekon that there should me some sort of execution weapon such as the Gallows or a headsmans block and axe for use with the death penelty and such. Say the person would have to be dragged onto it and it would require resources and manpower. the gallows would require rope or similar and the headsman block would require, well i dont know.

Hell yeah. A gallows would need a whole lot of wood for the stand, and of course some kind of rope. Much more efficient and immediate than just hitting someone again and again over the course of several days, and it may encourage dramatic trials and the like. Maybe even (gasp!) inside a courthouse, instead of outside where everything else important seems to happen.
Though maybe it should take more people than usual to drag someone onto it, (unless of course the person they're dragging is tied up; assuming any of the suggestions in the 'gagged and bound' thread are implemented) to make up for the fact that the victim won't have as much time to try and escape.

I think if you are dragging someone to the gallows it should take a little more time then if you were to just drag them somewhere to lock them up. I really like this idea. It would be something fun to RP. Maybe the actual death of the person could take a little longer too. Have an actual 'hanging project' that has to be completed before the person actually dies. Maybe we could have a guillotine too. (did I spell that right?). That of course would take steel, and iron, and wood as well as rope.

Or not, since there should be some way for a person to stop an execution, or even the person being executed to escape. Like if there is an execution project, then there should be an escape project too. If the escape project works, obviously then the execution project would fail. And vise-versa
Oh! And if there is more than one person working on the escape project then it should be easier for the person to escape since there is someone else helping them. And this of course leads to people getting dragged off to jail for trying to help a prisoner to escape. heehee

I like the idea of execution machines. You could build it anywhere you like. The most obvious way I can think of to make executions work is have "the gallows" appear in the list of location that you can drag people to. It should then function like a regular drag project except require more people (6 at full strength maybe?). But then there would need to be some mechanism to stop any one person from being able to single handedly execute someone at 16% health or less (or maybe this is should be allowed *shrugs*).
Making hanging projects take time just makes things overly complicated and I can't think of any good reason why it should be that way.

The reason it should take longer and require more people is because if it was instantaneous it would make killing someone too easy. Normally a victim has a chance to dodge or run away, and at one hit per person per day, it may take awhile to actually kill them.
And maybe there should be a way to stop it, just to make things a little more fair. It could be fairly easy for another character to cancel the hanging project (maybe they need a knife to cut the rope) but everyone should be able to tell when it was canceled and who did it, so they can deal with any unauthorized people who try to let the victim go.

Do remember that dragging is anonymous...6 people walk into town (not all at once...use a little subtlety) and suddenly hang the entire government. Amusing, but not a good thing. Of course, maybe dragging shouldn't ever be anonymous.
But even so...6 people awake at the same time could wipe out Krif, or Karnon Forest, without much risk. Assuming they had a gallows.

How about a lock on the trapdoor of the gallows?

So then 6 people including one of those with a gallows key could instantly and (semi)anonymously slaughter the town...the point is the possibility, not who does it.
Though now that I think about it...6 people is near the 'guaranteed kill number' if they use crossbows and attack people...except with the prevalence of misses, 'guaranteed' is a fuzzy term lately.
