Banks are Idiots

Postby Anthony Roberts » Sun Oct 10, 2004 5:04 pm

I'm sure many of you that are acquanted with my characters noticed that they've all gone to a long sleep for... uhh... four days now, maybe five.

Why? No, I didn't get a concussion - and contrary to popular rumors flying, I didn't die (Doesn't that suck, Brandon?) - Actually, my Internet was cut off. I went into a big state of depression, the ONLY thing that can ever ruin my "I'm always in a good mood" is the loss of the Internet, the Information Superhighway.

Amazingly, none of my characters are dead. Makes no sense, but okay. I thought at least someone would go "Holy crap! Anthony is inactive! *SLAUGHTER*" - Yeah, but I guess you're all smart enough to follow the CR rule :) I love you all! *GLEE*

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. Banks are Idiots. Why did my Internet get cut out? No, not a problem with my account, a problem with my mothers account. Her "friend" needed some money from her account, and lost her bank card, but can't confess to the bank - so she wrote a cheque to my mother, my mother cashed it, and handed the money to her "friend". Funny thing is, she's a rotton sneiving liar - The cheque was for a closed account, and days later the money bounced and my mothers account went from positive to negative in a week flat. As such, they needed to find money somewhere, and so they took it from -my- account, without even notifying me. I go to buy a new mouse, *"INSUFFICIENT FUNTS"* - Screw you, bank-hole!

Anyway, my account has been straightened out, and I hope they won't do it again anytime soon - My mothers account is still in the red, so, they just MIGHT take some away. Idiots.

But I'm back.

Is it legal for them to do that? It's you account, so isn't that stealing?

If the accounts are connected then it is ok for them to do that. If he has a seperate account that is in no way connected to his mother's, then yes, it's illegal.

Usually with overdraft protection, it comes from a joint account, or a savings account that might be connected or under the same name that the first account is. Overdraft protection can be a wonderful thing, but yes, most banks suck. *flips off wellsfargo with their stupid hidden fees*

Yes, it's legal. The account was opened when I was underage, so it had to have my mothers name on it with mine as a subordinate. Therefore, in all technicality, it's her account and not mine. We have to get it changed, though, so that it becomes independent to hers...

Yeah, but it's still stupid. They didn't even tell me. They even put a limit on my bank account, I can only use $50 a day, and that's crap, really (Considdering I now possess $0 since they took it all...) - No matter, I called them and asked why, and they told me the situation. They should have told me though, before hand, and so I feel like changing my bank. I was a very valued customer of this bank, too, I loved it, their service was great and all, but that just lost my vote of confidence.

There is no such thing as a valued customer at a bank anymore. My mother has all of her pension and retirement accounts in one bank. Quite a sum of money, and they still treat her like shit. She told them she would take her accounts elsewhere, and the manager said go ahead. A vice president overheard this, and talked my mother out of leaving. They are friends since way back. Now, only because of an old friendship, does my mother get any respect there. She used to work in banks, and knows that the level of service has been sacrificed due to the replacement of older experienced nice workers, with snot nosed college grads who think a teller's job is beneath their standards.

Yes sadly College Grads are snobs like that most of the times, but it happens. I wish they would bring back the experienced workers -.-.

Service Charges? Bah.

I know of no such thing with my bank. They charge me $1.25 a month, no matter what I did, then they refund it back to me. I never bothered to ask why... not that I care. A free bank account, woo!

My bank has a ton of hidden charges that they said they wouldn't charge us for. I'm pretty pissed.
