They don't get food. They finish projects. They don't know why, they just do. Then they get an iron weapon as a payback and they wonder why they wanted it in the first place. Soon they understand finishing projects just gives them objects they have no use for and they stop moving. They stop finishing projects. A few hunts here, a *smiles* there but eventually the town leaders stops giving them food. And then they die, unfortunately without ever finishing their first project called "Cantrian Life". I call them, untrue Cantrians.

(Warning: tedious rambling inside, go ahead without stopping)

Probably I'm having a very emotional moment, but I feel like thanking someone who won't read this, among other reasons, because he heart-attacked his characters last Christmas day (yes, last christmas he gave us his heart). Since all the chars I knew from that player were males, I will simplify referring to him in masculine, although I don't really know his/her gender.

I'm terribly lazy for trying games, and cantr wasn't an exception: the guy that brought me here spent days and days telling me to register, and then days and days (with puppy eyes and some blackmail included) telling me to log in and don't let my only char die after my first "meh, I don't like it" reaction. When I succumbed and logged in, ready to give it a try, my char was, naturally, starving (a 90% or 95%, I don't really remember) and -that- char from that anonymous player (well, anonymous for me at least) was not only feeding her, but talking to her so nicely, brushing her hair away from her face, asking her to live... It compelled me to interact with him to somehow... thank the player for the effort. Those first interactions got me trapped and was, for me, the first bite at that lure that cantr tempts us players with.

Fortuitously, like ¿ten? cantr years after or so, last Christmas day, we played the opposite escene, with his char's head resting on my char's lap while she was begging him to be strong.

I never praised any of his chars, well, I wasn't even registered in the forum till short before his quitting, and all his creations were pretty... discrete, not the ones to get involved in endless verbal jousting (and that wonderful expression is vilely stolen from an awesome cantrian) or thrilling stories, but ALL the chars I met from that player were devoted to make cantr a welcoming place for the rest of players, mostly to the newspawns. He displayed an incredible amount of patience trying to help those newspanws to find their "something", their purpose, their goals, even the brushstrokes of their personality.

I have the need to say thank you to that person, whoever it was, not only for "making" me roleplay, but most of all for caring so much for the players.

And this will be even more off-topic, but since I don't get this mushy often, I'll make a happy hour and say thanks too to the indirect guilty of me roleplaying again after the heartattacking and direct responsible of giving me hours of incredible awesomeness (gñe, You!); and also to You for [insert a bunch of unspoken stuff here, along with a grateful, warm, wide grin]; and to You because you're so absolutely awesome that I don't ask you if came back to cantr because I love fantasizing with the possibility that you actually did.

Thanks to the minds behind all that wonderful chars, dead or living, and to all the ones that I haven't met still.

*goes hide in her cave, ready and willing to deny each and every word stated before or blame it on the beer she hasn't had yet*

So many good characters have died that Cantr afterlife must be a busy place.

Twenty. I think you are talking about "that" player so I want to add my praise too. I still have chars missing his (?) chars so much...

I know it's been a long time now, but, if it's the Janine I'm thinking of, then I apologise for that.

I loved her, she was my favorite character to play, and out of all my old characters, she's the one I miss the most.

I do hope her best friend is still around though. She always loved him.

Last time I saw, he was still alive. And he missed her a lot.
Pfft, as if nobody else already knows who I play XD

I had at least two characters that knew Shaft. I don't remember any Rico other than it's a brand of clarinet reeds that I hate.

Poor Shaft, my character was upset to see him go but wasn't allowed to say any real goodbye to him. He made a terrible mistake and paid for it with an awful last few years.

Yeah. I can imagine my Alex Lewis would be talking a lot to my old De Dannan character.

I've had three characters die since I've come back to Cantr. They have all starved by my choice.

• Hanatewakusoshiseotadashiiteteriyakisuzukihondacivic, aka Amura. He was a dreadfully uninteresting character most of the time, which I suppose would be the case since he was the first of my original two characters. He spent most of his life in Dom Hofran and surround areas on resource runs, then moved to an outpost with some others. They all became sleepy or left. It only seemed inevitable that he do the same. He was in love with Zahra Rai (or Zee Black, as she later became known), but that relationship was ruined when RL became busy for me and I had barely enough time to get on and even say hi. His second love interest (in order of his interest in the person) would have been Lucy Carren had they both not been taken at the time. And his third, and most embarrassingly to me since I was so naive at the time, was Bayan Roder. He was almost horrified that he had been trying to pick up a taken woman, and that became even more awkward when I found out who Bayan's player was. He never loved anyone else like that.

• Elizabeth, from Djorf Hills West. Not much to say except that her life shattered when her only love interest died and the town ran dry because of it.

There's one more, but I'm afraid to name him/her because of potential CRBs it could cause.
