Running

Postby Appleide » Thu Jul 15, 2004 12:29 am

suggestion:

Be able to move twice speed between location

each turn you do this you loses 10 percent health

So eventually you'd be slower than walking

An option to choose to run until your health drops to X percent

I like the thought of being able to run. Ecspecially if they implement the fat and extra weight thing. You could jog to loose some of the weight. :)

Or you would consume twice the amount of food.

I think running is somewhat implemented. You can choose speed between 0-100 and I guess 100 would be similair to fast walking or "running".
I guess running for several days between towns would be impossible unless the char would be on some kind of drugs. If you have ran to much you won't loose health, you would just pass out or something or be unable to walk fast for a few rounds untill they are able to feel their legs again :shock:

Maybe you could combine the idea of running for a short period and the ability to change your speed from 0-100%
so you could walk at 100% speed for a particular amount of turn and you normally walk at 50%
but maybe you should then introduce something like stamina and endurance, and recovering when walking at less speed.
but i don´t think this should be implemented shortly.

hmm.... 110 % means walking faster than you normally do.... then you lose 10 percent health over the next 3 turns

120 % means jogging.... then you lose 20 percent health over the next 3 turns

130 % means jogging fast.... then you lose 30 percent health over the next 3 turns

blablabla

150% means sprinting ...etcetcetc

Or you could add the ability to "move" at 150% once every 5 or so turns.

However, I like the movement system the way it is...

100% means "All"

So travelling at 100% would be "Giving it all you got" - Ie: Running for your life!

That's how I see it. You can't run faster than 100% :P

Don't worry, there may be some non-steel vehicles for travelling soon. So then you can go faster. :P

Maybe walking =50 % and that would be the default speed

60%= lose 2 percent health per turn
70 means lose 4 percent health per turn
80 means lose 6
90=lose 8
100=lose 10 /turn
