That's a very good point.

People should aim for making stories that are not in conflict with the existing world. If people rp themselves or their parents having items that aren't common on the region, it's not a believable story. Also if people say that they were mugged or kidnapped and left somewhere, that causes problems because people who would be otherwise inclined to chase down thieves and attackers are forced to ignore the story because they know that going after imaginary people would be a wild goose chase. Although it can make interesting stories if a newspawn believes in their background story so hard that other people also start thinking it might be true and start searching for things based on it. Sometimes things in the game might support the story but often people are eventually forced to accept that it wasn't real after all, or that you can never go back to the other place.

There are a lot of RL clone religions out there too. Genesis with a different name lol.

I've always told myself that when I see an interesting religion for once, I'll allow my character to get into it. Maybe not full on, but at least integrate it into their lifestyle some.

There are just tonnes and tonnes of thing that -could- be done to make interesting and differing societies, but I think it does seem to take some practice with your imagination and roleplaying abilities to get into the swing of things. Birthing systems are necessary so long as you spawn your characters with completely open minds, which I think a lot of us (though not nearly all of us) do. It's just that most cultures and societies are predominantly the same already, so if you have a new, open-minded character that wants to absorb cultural qualities from his/her surroundings, they'd still likely just be taking in the same plain-jane standards that exist everywhere in cantr.

The only solution? Get freaking crazy. Take a couple of your middle-aged fourty year olds and go out on a limb here and there, or maybe even everywhere. Share those old old stories you have locked away in your old libraries with the newspawns, take your neutral town and start a rivalry with your equally primitive neighbours. Hell, start a rivalry with a neighbour in your OWN town. Make fun of people consistently for their poor fashion sense. Buy food from your local cook with metal. Talk about thoughts, not merely events. Ban the use of vans because the noise makes your head hurt and the fumes ruin the atmosphere in your roadside house. Dedicate every fifth newspawn to a class of nobility.

I don't know.

This is more believable than a childhood ignorant of its people, its history and its culture.

My character was/is also an idiot so most people ignore what he/she says anyway.

False. Animals do not reproduce anymore (code is broken) so everything is on the brink of extinction. Plants do not technically reproduce because they never deplete. They're just there, like a money tree, magically refilling.

Hrm. So basically everything at one point may have reproduced but now nothing does. Children of Men, anyone?

Well, animals still reproduce exactly as people, it's just that new applications for being a brown bear aren't handled anymore. It's simply a lack of newspawns. <.<

And the fact that plants never deplete shows pretty clearly that they're reproducing fine.
Pretty in pink.

As in, animals will spawn around other animals of their type, just as humans spawn where there are other humans.

So they spawn exactly like humans.

Only right now the code is glitched, so the animals aren't actually spawning at all.

end of confusion?

My point being, any newspawns at the moment wouldn't be seeing any human, animal or plant reproduction using game mechanics, so assuming you are a result of reproduction due to this seems a little illogical to me. :)

Cantrinians are asexual, they bud. Sex organs are for use of pleasure only, or omitted... they NEVER had a purpose, they MIGHT in the future, however.

Evolution works in mysterious ways, don't assume reproduction by OUR standards is how it STARTED. It makes more logical sense from both an IC and OOC manner as "spawning" always was... and families are in the "eventually" pile.
