It is not instantly a CRB, no, but it may be grounds for initiating an investigation. This question has been addressed numerous times in the past, throughout all of Cantr's little dramas. I think I remember that some people managed to successfully play characters on both sides of the Karnon / Blackrock debacle, for instance.

Should you avoid this kind of playing when you know it will bring multiple characters together because you are gaining inside knowledge of the ones movements you are attacking?Would that be classed as unfair strategy playing and maybe avoided, or is that fair play.?
You are correct. This would be odd circumstances and it would be in a player's best interests to avoid placing themselves in such a situation. Because even if an honest player is able to keep the knowledge of each of those characters distinct and separate, playing each character with perfect fidelity, you never know when a group of players involved in similarly shady dealings is going to gossip behind the scenes and uncover the identity of your characters and start causing trouble in the grapevine, and trying to libel and smear your reputation out of character.
It's nice to see that "perfectly rational" adults with real jobs, bills, kids, etc who should be aware of all that is truly important in life and the world around us, could get so worked up over a game, meant for recreational pastime and to relieve the stress of the aforementioned jobs, bills, kids, and etc. that it would become necessary to stomp off in a melodramatic huff simply because the powers that be did not answer an ultimatum and deliver the specific desired verdict.
It's even more uplifting to see the melodramatic huffees return repeatedly to stir the pot some more. This was a very good thread until 11 posts ago. I wish you people could grow up.
