MacDonalds, dragged there by friends every so often, generally after watching a movie, hate it everytime. Burger King, dragged there by parents every so often generally after shopping, hate it every time. Although, I'll be frank, part of the reason I -do- hate them everytime is that I blame them for most of the world's problems, such as deforestation, obesity, the failing NHS, etc. etc. simply so that I don't have to blame it our society in general, which from an objective point of view is almost certainly the real problem, fast food chains like BK and McDs are simply symptoms of the greater problems such as our little obsessions with money - the whole reason fast food places exist, status - trying to be faster, better, smarter, and larger in just about everything, order - every tiny little bit of our lives inspected and filed away (one particular thing I heard the other day that really annoyed me was about gap years. We were being given a talk about them and being told that now days since in general students work from the ages of 5 to 18, having examinations all the time etc. more people now are taking a gap year for a break from it all, and then moving on to talk about what a good gap year is and a bad gap year is when talking to a university about it! Isn't that completely against the point? Isn't a gap year to escape from all the inspecting and prying and simply relax, apparently not, now we should do a little voluntery work because it looks good on a CV, and travel because its strenuous rather than relaxing in a foreign country. Where did the whole point go!?), even if the fast food places may lead to obesity and such. Anyway, odd little whinging rant over, carry on.
