Architectural details

Postby Kreed » Sat Jan 27, 2007 6:23 pm

Have some architectural extras we can add to finished buildings.
Eg; Buttresses, 6 kilos of stone 6 days + trowel

This wouldn't have any practical effect except to modify the building description.

A large hall with buttresses!

Perhaps limit modifications to one or two per building,

A large hall with buttresses and a thatched roof!

I can think of a hundred things to add, columns, porch, arches, ect. ect.

Its rather like the clothing except for buildings.
Yuk yuk yuk.

Woah, columns and arches could add more durability to the building. :o

And it also limits options. Less place for imagination, not many details you can choose from. Even if you add 20 or 30 different upgrades. I will always be limited.

Agreed, while it may be neat to have things like that added to buildings, it does hamper what some have done with notes on the ground describing a place. I think it would be best left as is and let the players add such things in descriptions if they wish.

I DISAGREE!!!

I think it should be in the "buildings and vehicles menue"

It should be there becaus it will not only attrackt customers to it, but it will show off peoples skills.

Since several of my chars were somewhat destroyed by random skill assignment, I have absolutely no sympathy for this argument.

I like this idea alot. Not essential, but if most of these are just cosmetic it is nearly entirely a RD issue. Meaning it doesn't take away from the ProgD's time whilst they work out a complete framework for it. And as with anything, it always helps to have a clean slate like this. :)

I like that. That idea has been made in polish forum many time ago.

But it won't be limited. When you build a very big temple, you should make very detailed description.

Next thing is about materials. It will be very nice when you can build iron gate. ^^
