Putting keys in envelopes
It would be nice if we could put a key in an envelope.
So that when giving someone a key, it can be put into an envelope along with a note saying what the key's for.
It would also help with organisation of keys in a chars inventory.

I agree entirely, what a smart idea! It gives a new feel to a person's will! So that way, when you think you're going to quit the game, you just make envelopes with people's names on them, and depending on what you're giving away, make copies of keys, and yeah! Put them in!
Nakranoth's "evil" character says:
"Thief! That's terrible! *shakes his head* That would hurt people's feeling if I did that."

Yeah this seems like a great idea. You could seal keys in an envelope and send them to places with notes and everything. I like it alot.
I do not really know for sure though what would have to be done by PD to add this, but I don't think it would be too hard. However, that is just a guess and I could be wrong.

One little technical hitch, keys weigh 10g but envelopes and weightless, so it could be reasonablt tricky to implement unless you make keys weightless, which I wouldn't particularly mind anyway

I'm also totally unsure what PD can do about this , as PD is the abbreviation for the Players Department

Or made envelopes weigh the sum of their contents like any other storage

I remember this suggestion from long ago, rejected due to the weight problem. But dynamic naming. Yes indeed.
(I've noticed from forum posts that some chars add the lock number to their description of the vehicle/building. If this suggestion is not implemented, there's a hint on getting partly round the problem. )

*laughs* Sorry, it was real real late when I was posting that(2:30am I believe). I know ProgD is for programing and PD is the Players Department. I just wasn't think straight last night.

I agree that dynamic naming of keys (if we aren't able to lose the numbers) is still a good idea. But cannot we implement both? I love this key in the envelope idea as well. It would make it possible to sort out groups of keys, without having to have them sitting on the floor in a room.
If you're going through hell...........keep going!
