I was responding to the other posts - seemingly suggesting that players should learn Polish so their characters can speak it (not vice versa).
I have no issue with the use of the wiki emotes, as they refer to physical actions, and we have no other way of expressing those in Cantr - they don't teach players nouns.

A thread started by....me!
I do agree that it needs to be roleplayed as much as possible, but it does take A LOT of work to try and figure out a language purely from immersion in Cantr. I would encourage players who are going to be dedicated to the roleplaying of the learning process to learn the language outside of the game.
I have been trying to pick up Polish solely through game for about a year now. Sure I could figure out the basic nouns and stuff, point repeat, mimc, yada yada yada, but as far as actually becoming functional in it, I haven't had the time to devote to reading through game logs enough to pick out the patterns I need.

Easy. Most of polish players knows at least basics of english. My polish chars meets with english chars three times, and it was a problems with "CRB poliglots" rather than with incomprehension. But offcourse as wichita wrotes some understanding of the language will help, so just use that thread in our part of forum

I did that with a guy who spoke Swedish.
