Trying A Door
I was thinking about how if someone tries to go inside a building, and the door is locked, it will tell you so. But if the door isn't locked, you will automatically go into the building, which is often considered a crime no matter how innocent the intentions. So why not make some way of testing the door first, too see if it is locked or unlocked. Now in cantr society you shouldn't really be trying locks anyway, but if you happen to try one that is locked, no one sees you try it. So if we aren't going to have a way to allow someone to check a door without having the action visible, shouldn't we make someone trying to enter a locked door be visible? After all them trying an open door is visible current(since trying an opened door automatically allows them too enter).
Either of these two possibilities I support. It doesn't really matter either way too me. However if you think about it, adding the ability to try a door before entering if it is unlocked would definetly have an interesting advantage. First of all thieves, bandits, and even soldiers could plan attacks or raids better if they were given this function. This would add a new element to battles, and the game. Covert warfare..I wouldn't call it that yet, but it is a step.

I would agree there should be a chance..but that isn't my current suggestion. I suggest that the ability to find out if a door is locked or unlocked without actually attempting to enter should be implemented first. Then I suggest we sit back and observe the effects of the ability. If it makes a big impact, then we should think about making it possible to see the person checking.

I think you should be able to try doors, that you shouldn't know they are locked unless you try them and that people should see you try..
I also this this should happen for vehicles and this to me is more important...

I speak has someone who had a character who was an almost kleptomaniac thief, who would have been slain in the first town he spawned in if it was in place.....
The covert check would make it very usefull, if it was an event everyone could see it would be the domain of the legitimate officials.. true.. but then do you think people wouldn't notice people trying front doors and car windows?
I must admit in my head I treat caNTR buildings as not having doors unless there is a lock on them..

Ok now I've changed my mind about this a little. I don't want to get this passed if it is visible. It really just defeats the purpose of it if it does become visible. Also if you make it visible, it is just another excuse for people in cantr to be imprisoned. I don't want to add another excuse for being arrested to cantr! There is already way to many in my opinion. I know that the majority of people in cantr don't like the idea of giving thieves any possible abilities to help them succeed. But think about it. Almost every action a person makes in cantr is visible to everyone else. Now in real life this isn't true! You can't see all the buildings in a single town in real life! Now obviously in cantr you have be able to see every building, but what I am suggesting here will add a little realism back to the game. It is not like people watch over doors in real life. We already have the ability to see a person enter a building! Lets give back some private actions to the player.
