Thank you, thank you everyone! Please keep posting! :D

Some of you have mentioned The Grudge... haven't seen it! I have to trust you guys and make sure I get my hands on it.

Seko... T3? I remember being scared of T1 when I was very young. When Arnie's skin is burned off and the metal-skeleton arises behind the main characters and begins to chase them.... Huuuuuuu... that's really frightening!

The Blair Witch Project is an interesting movie, either you hate it or love it. I really think it's one of the scariest films I've ever seen. I can totally relate to the fear of being attack by something unknown in the deep forest. And given that it laughs and sounds like little children... Huuuuuu again!

Have you tried watching The Thing.
Thats a great scary but older movie.
or failing that, The Evil dead. Now that was really freaky when that came out, till they made about four more after, then they became comical rarther then scary.
One that did the rounds that was just gross to me was.. I spit on your grave.
I think it's actually banned now. It's like a real life goofy documentry into death. With one scene where they place a small monky in this round table  live at the time with it's head just showing and four people actually bash it's head with little hammers. Then they sit there eating warm monky brain discussing and talking like a small dinner party. Just vile..not to mention the rest of the movie. so i would give viewing that one a miss for sure.

Battle Royale and Battle Royale 2 are daaaaaaaaaaaaamn gory. not really all that scary, but the idea of Japanese school kids sent to an island to kill each other isn't fun.

Final Destination 1 & 2. Both of those movies had me jumping.

Saw as someone else mentioned was pretty scary.

Cabin Fever I think it's callled, can be pretty gross.

Yes, as I was reading this thread I thought of that film, and 28 days Later, but they've all been mentioned, so... how about The Omen, the first one was pretty good, well when I saw it when I was younger anyway.

Or for an even worse one, I suggest you try to watch "Cannibal Holocaust". The normal version is banned in over 50 countries (including the UK), and there is a reason. I have never been able to watch more then a few minutes of this movie, something that has never happened to me with any movie before. I found the little I saw to be disgusting and revolting, but considering what you are going after, this might be one for you to try.

Edit: Oops, I just looked, and it appears that it is banned in Sweden. Sorry, but I guess you will have to find some other movie.

The Amityville Horror, now that was pretty scary, just me and 3 other friends watching in the basement on a computer screen, lol. Well not the first version, i think it's the 2nd one, where a family stays there for 28 days and leaves, they live.

The original Jaws. Going into the ocean, just isn't the same anymore.

Happy Campers It was so bad I'm scarred for life. And that's despite having Peter Stormare on the cast. ;)

More seriously, I second Event Horizon. Most terrifying description of hell ever. Hell isn't a warm place with horned guys who torture you occassionally, it's a place of sheer madness!

And the idea behing Battle Royale scares me shitless. I don't want to see that movie, EVER!

/Hellzon - no new suggestions, I'm afraid

The first time I watched Alien, it was very scary. Unlike its sequels which degrade into a "kill the bugs!" motif, the original movie was more suspense than action, and introduced a really scary monster into our media culture.
