That would make sense - it would be good to still have some food that is typically found growing wildly (say berries, tree-fruits etc.) but just have them in a limited supply.

But then allow characters to "build" crop fields which at first would just provide a limited, but relatively protected source of crop and then allow them to build "upgrades" (i.e. a dung fork, fertilizer spreader, irrigation system, combine/harvester) that wuld allow them to, over time increase the production of their farm.

In far future versions perhaps some farming logic could even be incorpoated to allow the seasons (or even one day, weather) affect the amount of crop - additionally fields could gradually become less effective if the same crop was grown year after year (in the same way farmers need to rotate crops to keep the soil healthy).

See the game "Sim Farm" good game for building crops. we could use some of those ideas.
Here I am. BITE ME. or not, in fact, never mind, dont want some wacko taking me up on the offer. Only non wacko's may apply for bite allowance.. no garentee that you will be granted said allowance, but you can try.

That will change soon. What location did your character farm for wool? Nevermind, I'll find it.

And don't worry. You can still get wool but you just can't gather it anymore.

So can the wool be cut without killing the sheep? It should, at least with scissors. I've never had scissors so I don't know if an option magically jumps up if you have them... But it's unrealistic that you have to kill sheep for wool.

They are extremely vicious sheep, not the timid domesticated ones we know. So in order to get close enough (Let alone cut some wool from them) without getting badly hurt or even dismembered and killed, you have to kill them.

What became of this? I really think that wool should be harvestable without killing the sheep... especially as there really aren't enough sheep in Cantr (in my opinion).

But maybe that's because I'm from a country that was made rich on wool...

Anyway, I like the idea of sheep shearing. Any chance it could be implemented in some way?

Another by-product could be manure from cows & sheep -- possibly it could be used to fashion a "tool" like a fertilizer spreader that would increase people's productivity in picking vegetables?

Dung, especially from buffalo, would be such a great asset for cooking. So many places have little access to wood or anything else for cooking the meat that is their only food source. And it would be much lighter to carry than wood since it has to be dried out to be burnable.

*rants* You want to let sheep live after what they did to Miss Vane?

And for those of you who don't know who she was, never mind *grins*
