tomahawks
mace
flail
Spatha(short officer sword in roman times. had one edge.)
pilum(spear with wooden shaft and a iron head)
war club(a spiked club made of wood)
flanged mace
trident
lance
braodsword
thats all i have at the moment. sorry if any are duplicates
Actually, I think that Lance could come in when we can train, tame animals. For example, it would prove to be not so effective holding it by yourself, but it would be extremely effective if you use it on top of a horse. Long swords and ranged weapons could also become slightly more effective on horses.

Yeah, I was thinking about that when I wrote it down. It all depends on how good you are at it...Maybe it could be used on the backs of other animals like elephants or something?

As in like people could invent weapons that outsiders could only make when the idea is spread out upon them? Well, the "You should allow people to invent in Cantr" suggestion topic has been rejected, so your suggestion is unlikely to be implemented as well...
Otherwise your suggestion is still against the flexibility of the Cantr II.

It still limits what societies could be like in the world of Cantr II. This suggestion is also simply limiting what characters could do. It would be odd if a character finally traveled to place where he could forge his parts of a sword only to realize he couldn't because of, what the characters themselves would say, some outside universal force....

What I'm saying is what Sho said. If you were born here, you can make these weapons. If you were born there, you could make those weapons. Then if you wanted some other weapons, you could travel to another island and find them. Or else make it so there are weapons that require certain resources that can only be found on one island (which I am sure there are...)
All of my endings are waiting to begin.

Agreed, this suggestion is completely against the spirit of Cantr.
But as long as Jos is Chair of the PrD I dont imagine anything like this will be implemented.

Besides it would make people feel honourable if they got given a sword that was once held by the most powerful man in all the lands.
From what I understand, embroidery/engraving is an approved suggestion, pending implementation.

So eventually, yes.Just give the programmers time.

The engraving, I like that... lets a smith sign his work, sort of a way of saying "I made this, and I can make more", which would be good advertising for business.
The concept of simply naming a sword for the honour-aspect, though...
I don't know, it would kinda weaken the effect once you see 300 different people carrying the mighty Excalibur.
Perhaps this could be fixed in a way that the smith could set it to be editable or non-editable, like notes... but even then, there might still be several smithees churning out loads of "mighty dragonslayers", to coin a name.
