Well, I like it mostly, but what I have seen that it could impact on is in town's where leaders put a lot of tools into repair or manufacture stages, for citizens to work on. In the proposed system these could all be stolen. Perhaps the project could only be moved by the initiator of the project, or anyone once it's become abandoned?
<Seko> Heheheh that region soooo deserves to be massacred

You know that's exactly what I was thinking Kab, when I first started reading this. The initiator of the project should be the one to move it, or, if they are no longer there, anyone who's working on it. If the mover has to work on it, it should give us some time to spot them and drag them off it.
If the projects were only moveable from the buildings to the village center then that would stop a lot of thieving but would help out with village elders being abel to ask people to help with things. I know one place in particular that has a LOT of items that need repairing in a building that is locked because it's used for storage.

Since projects wouldn't be movable if someone is working on them, just make sure your people work efficiently and there are no idle projects. And if moving between towns wouldn't be available, projects couldn't get too far - thieves are usually newspawns and newspawns rarely have locked buildings, so dragged projects would end up on the yard. Annoying alright but if the thief starts working on the project and the starter goes outside, they will get the results in their inventory - free work force!

Lovely - now we just need a whole load of stupid theives to invade the town once we've finished the projects.
You've just made me think it's a good idea to start all my mending projects outside.... hmmmmm
