Implementing more resources

Postby warfreak » Fri Sep 30, 2005 12:33 am

I know that this will take a lot of the resource's programming time but this is a good idea if implemented and makes the game fair. If the newer resources were implemented on the first island, the one with cantr city, it would be more even. I might stop newspawns trying to suicide on the first island to get to the second island because some resources are available there and not on the first island. You are probably going to reply that its for trade reason, but those cities on the coast will get it, not the ones in the middle. Maybe some of the new resources should go to the Xiria region as Siom and Naron along with the Alenz area quite balanced. Hope i didn't break any rules saying that. If i did, well i'm sorry.

No, I actually like it how it is. I want to have to travel to get exotic resources instead of having it all in walking distance.

we could still do that. Just place the "exotic" resources all over the place. If the towns that have a lower population a exotic resource to pick up trade. That should make it a bit even and stop some suicidal newspawns.

I think the policy is; new resources only on uninhabited islands.
Of course whenever Cantr as a whole is mapped, either we'll have to stop having new resources or the policy will have to change.

Or new islands will have to appear out of nowhere. :D

That, now, is not a very urgent problem ;) ... Remember, there are 9217 locations, can you name even half of them? ;) (And please don't try, at least not publicly :) ...)

I know that. I believe I was told by someone (you, maybe) that only 20% of cantr has ever been seen by cantrian eyes?
