Note Deterioration

Postby SickGerm » Sat May 28, 2005 9:05 pm

The subject Pretty Much says it . . .

This would allow you to know how old a note on the ground is. If a note from a trader say ill be in town for a few days but the note is crumbling obviously they are long gone.

in order for a town to maintain its notes it would simply have to pick up and copy the note or put the note inside an envelope to delay the deterioration.

This would also help to get rid of the millions of notes lieing around and create a few more jobs in cantr as secretaries.

perhaps the age of the note could even affect what it looks like a new note clear green like normal but older will be coffee stained paper

No.

No, no, no, no.

Why? Please, no. No, no, no.

I think I've made my opinion clear.

EDIT: We don't need more jobs. There are already far more jobs than people to fill them. Seriously, with repairing recently implemented... there is far more work than even the full potential Cantr workforce could cope with.

you wouldnt have to repair notes tho you just make a copy like normal and its new again it would reduce clutter from dead people and such just big buisnesses would need to delegate someone to take care of notes or store them away

Nay, the people wouldst never stand for it. We must, after all, keep the pro-literiate content, lest they should topple us from our seat of power.

I like this idea...alot. It could be a way to tell if a note is new or really old. That would be very cool.

If the person writing the note would date the note...as I have...then you would know...or would it be possible that when a note is created, a date is automatically dated at the bottom...if you copy the note, then the date of copy would also appear...if you copy a copy, only the latest copy date would appear...

If someone feels it's important that someone knows the date a note was written or edited, they can right it down.

If not, deal with it. Historians do it. You can too.

I couldn't really care less... I was just making a suggestion...most people who write notes, never think about dating them...

Alas, I must agree with those sentiments for now.

Even deliberately recycling notes is quite an exercise. One thing though. The ability to destroy entire envelopes full of notes would be welcome.

Couldn't someone just add a date and have it be wrong?

But historians have ways to find out how old a note is.

With machines that I don't think Cantrians should have access to, RKL.

just saying no is not enough.

If you say no (or yes for that matter) please give an argument about it.
