The Golden Age of Seafaring
I posted this topic before, but due to some sort of bug on my part it never made it. Here it is again.
Lately it seems that a golden age of seafaring has begun in cantr. Without going into too many details, fairly regular contact has started up between points on the two oldest (I mean longest-inhabited) english speaking islands. I don't know what's happening on Dhung island but maps from there have been showing up on Blojt/Pok/Krif island for decades.
Also, contact is beginning to increase between other english speaking islands (again, without going into too many details).
I foresee a rapidly interconnecting world. At the very least, two sets of interconnected landmasses...
I have no experience with other language groups (although I noticed spanish and german people together when I had a german char) but the English world, at least, is getting smaller.
Discuss. Without going into too many specifics please

Intercontinental trade should prove interesting...for one thing, you can now run from your past and be pretty sure it'll never catch up, assuming you can find someone to take you overseas.
I won't say we have a golden age until a naval war is fought. Or at least a decent skirmish. I wonder what the favored warship will turn out to be?

I agree with your sentiment, West.
Things are really opening up, in my opinion. Especially from my first hand experience. For example, 6/8 characters of mine have a boat's key in their inventory. One is an adventurer, another is a world reknown trader/captain/encyclopedaeist, etc.
Fun stuff.
If you're a good Captain, and know how the seas work, there's a neat way around that.
Anyways, my characters (one above them all) stakes their place in this world of global intercontinental sea movement.
