Herbs in the wild
I am fairly new to Cantr II and I love it so far. I have heard that you can collect herbs in the wild. Now having traveled to 10 towns, I have yet to see any herbs growing anywhere other than window boxes, etc. Have I misunderstood something. By 'wild' does it mean somewhere along the road in between towns? If so how exactly do you find them since when I travel, if I check location nothing ever comes up?

They grow in some locations (towns). You can see them on the location page if so. They are not very common though.
Nothing grows on roads.

What he said... If they grow in the 'wild' they just act as any other resource.

Ahhh. Well thank you. I will stop looking. I have no intention on spending all my game time travelling from place to place on the slim chance I will find something that isn't that useful. I was working on playing an Apothecary character, but I see that is way more trouble than it is worth.
Thanks again for the responses everyone.

You can still do that, just start by getting the first bit of herbs from other people
Besides that, you can always try and look on maps if you can spot them

yeah, all you need is 1 gram of any herb to get started, with that you can grow all you want. Just ask around in the towns you go to, you might luck out and find a town with some "seeds" to trade you.

It's horrible. No way to have fun with collecting rare herbs

I agree, herbs could have been designed better. Most people give their seeds out for free.

It has been my experience that as a new person/character, people want things that there is no way I can have in order to trade when I have asked about it.

I guess it depends on where you spawn, but it's been my experience that most people will hand you literally just about anything you ask for if you're active and willing to work on repairs a few days.

Most people would be happy if you work for it. It's rare to find somebody who needs something and has the resources to trade for it.

^Right. To me, except in those instances where an entire area has really been screwed by resource allocation, actually trading seems more and more like a thing you mostly do because you want to roleplay, or help somebody else roleplay, a trader. Workers are what's needed in pretty much every town I see, and that more to do repairs then actually produce anything. Everything imaginable that could ever possibly be used by a town ten times the size is already locked up inside.
