Postby Floyd » Tue Jul 19, 2005 1:47 pm

Hello everyone, sorry to abandon you all so suddenly and apologies to anyone who's charectors have been mucked up through the inactivity of mine. I would explain where i've been and whats kept me away from the game, but it'd take ages and you'd all get really jelous

So if you could all let me know of any news thatd be cool

Cheers

Well I'm not easily "Jelousified" but welcome back just the same. I don't know how long you've been gone but the "Find out in game" Rule has changed somewhat... It's a little hard to explain. But a Cantrii Wiki has been created. If you want to visit that, here it is : http://www.cantr.net/mwiki/index.php/Main_Page

It's good to be back, i kept putting off playing after about two weeks or so because i thought i wouldent be able to get back into the game, but it's actually been suprisingly easy to resume my Charries lives, and i only lost 2 newspawns through my negligence, Hoorar!

It's certainly been an interesting time, I was in London on the day the bombs went off going to a gig (Which in the end got cancelled..Sensible but a pain in the arse) so i got held up there for the night and most of the next day, after that i had a hectic week of post exam partys and stuff to go to, so i was very rarly at home, and then i went to London to see another gig with the refund from the firt one (Ironicly there was not one, but TWO bomscares at the venue and surrounding area) and then i was just too scared to play cantr incase i'd missed loads and all my charries had died! so basically, i spent my Cantr Vacation either almost getting blown up, or blowing my brain up through more enjoyable methods, and now i'm trying to learn how to type again!

Anyways..

Get used to the word "Non!" Most Parisians speak English. Most will not, however, speak it to Ugly Americans who ask them if they speak English.

Dee, you'll probably be fine. You're neither ugly nor American....

I actually found that Paris was really nice and friendly, but that's because I speak French and, when it was clear that I was genuinely trying and could at least understand them, most Parisians would switch to English for me, even if they had already said they couldn't speak it.

I don't necessarily think they say that because they are snooty or rude, but rather for the same reason I don't say I can speak French when talking to a French person-- however good I might be, my French is not up to the same level as a native.
