They're all better now, though, right?

it's a bit like a phase, national adolescene, I think most have got over it, but some countries are still a bit immature.

on topic:

I just got some new music: "How the west was won", by Led Zeppelin

surfing with the alien, the extremist, and not of this earth; all by Joe Satrini.

permission to land, by the darkness

All good stuff :D

Their cool accents. lol. You wouldn't think there would be such a variation in such a small place! Welsh accent is completely different to the Scots. And then in Ireland the further south you go it keeps changing. And in England theres just too many.

It's all good though.

They use to say in America that you could tell what county an Irishman was from by his accent.

Remember that dude in "My Fair Lady" (yes, it's musical theatre)

who could pin a person's birthplace within several hundred yards in England in general based on their language, or 3 blocks in London itself.

Craziness.

I read a book that was sort of like that. It was called Pygmallion or something close to that where they were able to tell what part of a town you were from by the way to spoke English.

That's because it's the same thing. George Bernard Shaw wrote Pygmalion, and when it was made into a stage production they changed the name to "My fair lady" Probably because they didn't think anyone would get the greek mythology reference.

Well, I'll be damned. It was still a rather boring book, though.

Wasn't the book about a girl who could change her accent or something and a group of people wanted to use her for their own greed?

meh.

sort of.

See the movie; it's easier to follow (if you can stand musical theatre) and it has audrey hepburn in it.
