Then £million would equal 10.17 million L.E....

That's true.. That's the reason why people immigrate to the US or UK, to make some money, come back home and they're millionares just like this!

I personally believe it's very easy to make money if one is wise... They don't have to work hard either... Well maybe only at the beginning...

How?

Considering he would have been paid $660000 in those 30 years?

Stocks?

There's your problem, west. You need to get the loose change together, because they're less prudish than the 20's and more likely to make like bunnies.

I amused the two Chinese girls I went to lunch with today talking about money. I am really quite the minimalist and think very little about money. I don't even know how much I make from my stipend! They told me I didn't sound very American and would probably make a pretty good communist in China.

I know shouldn't say it too loudly because I would hate for Homeland Security to come and drag me away....but yeah, I've got a few socialistic tendencies! :D Just let me do my job and make sure my family stays warm, safe, and healthy and I will be the happiest guy on Earth.

How is that anti-communist? If I do my part, and everyone else does their part, then we will acquire the basic necessities of life. I fail to see how that is inherently anti-communism.

Sorry I don't feel like screwing over my neighbour to hoard up riches and lots of toys! :D

Never said it was anti-communist...

But you seemed to be concentrating on your own family, and not the greater good. *he shakes his head* Absolutely disgraceful

I'm not sure how he did it, they didn't say in the news article, they also didn't say whether or not if he had any other jobs other then teaching, but I would assume he did at least over the summer vacations. Even if not, I think it would be more then possible to turn 660K into 1.5 mil with the right investments. It would take a few years to get the capital together to start making some serious money, but once the ball was rolling it would have a snowball effect.

I'd move into a nice home, and laugh at all the people I know. I would then found my own party, run for office and marry four people.

Some money would be nice.

There probably not exact quotes, but.....

Peter: "Lawrence, what would you do if you had a million dollars?"

Lawrence: "Peter man, I know exactly what I'd do. Two chicks at the same time."

Peter: "If you had a million dollars, you'd do two chicks at the same time."

Lawrence: "Yup. I always wanted to do that. I think if I had a million dollars I could probably hook that up."

Peter: "I don't think two chicks are going to do that just for a million dollars."

Lawrence: "Well...I think two chicks who'd double up on a dude like me would."

Peter: "You have a point."
