Hitting dead people - Hey Cantr staff, is this allowed?

Postby SekoETC » Wed Jul 13, 2005 2:05 pm

I just noticed you can hit dead people if the person is in an event with a living (clickable) person. I think everyone should know in case this can be used for practicing your fighting skills, since otherwise some could gain unfair advantage. I don't know if the one hit per day rule applies for that but probably. And it's easily checked.

The question is, are we allowed to use this bug for training fighting skills? That would be useful, like hay dolls exept these used to be living people once. Even if it didn't increase your fighting skills after a time, it would still be useful for testing character strenghts and different weapons, saving animals and note thieves from being used as guinea pigs.

This is hilarious actually, I've noticed someone killing a fellow who has been dead for about 3 days now. I think it's a glitch but it's funny.

Well, it's like a practice dummy... only not a dummy...

hmmm, well i guess allowing people to mutilate the dead is realistic because people rally can continue to beat on corpses in real life if they were sadistic enough, also adds an amusing quality to town life

Looks like there's some link between Brunoi and Kiii besides me since I've only seen this in one place but didn't spread it to the other, yet it was discovered in the other place within a day of me posting this.

You can talk to them too. One of my characters likes to do that with dead thieves.

Yeah, the phenomenon got me involved in quite the humorous discussion yesterday! I felt like such a noob asking where the invisible target was!
