BLUEBERRIES?!?!? [Auto-eat bug]

Postby mortaine » Wed Jul 06, 2005 6:22 pm

What the heck?

"1219-5: You ate 133 grams of your blueberries."

I am carrying hundreds of grams of carrots, and the system eats my blueberries FIRST?!?!?

Does anyone else see a problem with this?

(Blueberries: used for healing. gathered at only slightly more than 133 g/day. Now WASTED because the computer won't let me eat my far-more-efficient-for-food carrots instead!)

Yeah, blueberries definitely don't follow the rules which, I believe, are that you keep eating whatever you've been eating until it's gone. But if you get hold of some blueberries they always get eaten first. I'm not sure about other kinds of berries. Haven't had much experience with them.

I also had the same experience with smoked meat. Skipped right over the rice my char had been eating.

Yeah, that's really irritating. Like sand-in-your-shorts irritating.

This better not mean what I am fearing it might mean...

Oh, it kept eating whatever else I was eating, potatoes, I think-- but I'd gotten the carrots so I would eat them. The blueberries are supposed to be for healing.

I wouldn't complain so much if it ate them at a rate of, say, 2 grams per day, instead of most of my stash! What a ripoff!

It takes a lot of blueberries to make a good once-a-day meal! They're tiny, yo.

But which is heavier, a 1 ton anvil or 1 ton of feathers?

When did blueberries become food? :? How long has this been the case?

Always, as far as I know, except that it seemed like they stopped being food for a little while around 1100 (when healing foods changed) and then, at some point, went back. I dunno. I might have imagined that last part.

I'm saying always...but thanks for giving away the little known fact that they are everyday food!

I believe the game will make your character eat whatever in your inventory comes first alphabetically.

I don't like this system, as it means you can't save some things that you want to, like the grilled meat, or blueberries.

The fact that they are an everyday food that gets eaten at such a lousy rate seemed enough like a bug and not a deliberate design that it seemed worthy of a support report.

Nope. I just ate my blackberries, too-- after the blueberries were all gone. This completely sucks. It's clearly a bug, and it ought to be fixed! Either that, or allow people to actually select what foods to eat!

I agree we ought to be able to pick our diets. I think I remember discussing that the 'eat' button could be setup to pick which food would be automatically eaten. Did I imagine that, or is it in the works?
