lol.. Pie.. I wasn't writing small to keep you out of the convo... :P If you'll look, it really has nothing to do with the convo which is why it is small...

So.. yea... good music? I like lots of kinds, but don't know that much I'd offer would be liked by the Colonel or if it's already been mentioned... I've see quite a few good suggestions though.

Okay first off, I have no idea how we got off the subject this bad and I don't really care but to have that conversation on one of my threads is like having one aboot How Mormons came to be, (I had to take this class) And I really don't care about it and I really don't want to chat about it here so drop it please and start a new thread.

Geesh, I don't go to your threads and talk about beer do I? Grrr.

Okay, now on to what I wanted to really say. I just got a new program and I am very pleased with it. It is named; Audio Xtract Pro. And it is very sweet. If you have not heard about it, you should check it out. It is a program where you can listen to 8 different stations and record what is on them then you can pick what you want and what you do not want. That is very sweet. I am getting lots of ideas for songs on there.

Yes I have tried that and I like Bearshare better. But now that I have this program I might just get rid of it altogether. I will see how it goes. This program is very neat so far so I hope that it cuts out the middle men.

Okay I have just heard a song that made me dance and feel old at the same time!

Here I go again by Mandaryna (Groove Coverage extended mix) Now I used to listen to this song a long time ago. Is there anyone out there that remembers who sang it back then?

1. Punjabi MC does have an album - either that, or what I'm holding in my hands is a figment of my imagination

Yes, but you said Punjabi MC was an album, which he is not. He has an album, but he is not an album.

2. Annamika and Malkit Singh are both Hindi names - but are possible to write, at least somewhat phoenetically, in English - as with most of the Hindi Language

Well, I don't know of any English names for the people I like.

3. don't start telling me I'm wrong, when I'm right, and you seem to know diddly squat

No no no, don't start telling ME I'm wrong when when I'M right, and YOU don't know didly squat.

Checkmate.

I never said Punjabi MC was an album. Your little mind clearly couldn't work its way around my post?

as for English names for Hinidi names/words - it's not very difficult - just spell it out phonetically - transliterate - but then again, if you had trouble understanding my post - guess that might be too difficult?

And checkmat? - we're not playing chess. Or is that something else you're getting confused about?

What a masterfull debating technique, my friend, I aplaud you. Saying I have a small mind, wow, what a witty insult. Unfortunatly, you ingenius and infinitly original defence is negated by the fact that you did in fact say Punjabi MC was an album. Allow me to cite a rather reliable source (and please do not edit my posts as you did earlier. That is just childish. Come on, if you were really right, you could win the argument with written word alone.)

hallucinatingfarmer wrote:Someone mentioned Punjabi MC? That's definatly an album to listen to...

If you consult the rules of the english language, you will see that this implies that you were saying that an album exists called Punjabi MC (and that the songs contained therein are entertaining, but that is beside the point.)

And so, it does appear that you are mistaken.

Also, if you will look at what I wrote, I never said that Punjabi MC never recorded an album. What I said that Punjabi MC is not the name of an album, but rather an MC, contrary to what you stated.

No, I did not understand your post, just as you did not understand mine earlier. Does that make either one of us stupid? No, it does not. Does it justify us or others calling either one of us stupid? No, it does not. Even where we stupid, to say so would be rude. Because you misunderstood something I wrote, does it mean you cannot comprehend the English language? That is a ridiculous suggestion, that one does not understand an entire language for misunderstanding one piece of information transmitted in that language. Your being completely ludicrous.

Yes, I did misunderstand. Thank you for clarifying and correcting me. Now I understand what you meant, and can answer you properly. Knowing now what you meant, I doubt I could properly transliterate them, and I do not care to try. I can barely transliterate English or French, let alone Hindi and Punjabi. Sorry, but I couldn’t do it. The sounds just are not compatible with the English.

I believe it is spelled checkmate, my friend.

HallucinatingFarmer, you that I know we are not playing chess. You are pretending to be stupid and ignorant. Stop it. You know that that is a metaphor, and don’t be childish just out of spite, alright? Please.

This is just to show how stupid that is and how it cannot be used as an argument.

To elaborate, telling someone that they are stupid, that you are right and that they do not know “didley squat” is not solid argument. Just because you said it does not make it so. (Believe me, I’ve tried.)

Anyways, I am glad we’ve cleared all this up.

I extend to you this tiny little animated happy face in reconciliation.

Anyway, "Baby Jesus" is a sarcastic term some people use to poke fun at the American Christian right-wing evangelicals.

I am afraid not, my friend. It refers to Jesus, (the son of God, the omnipotent creator of all, according to the christian faith, or the Prophet Jesus of Nazereth, in accordance with Islam) as a baby.

It is universal in function.

As for the parody site, that joke was likely lifted from the Simpsons, in the episode in which the character Rod says to his father "Lying makes the baby Jesus cry."

I was only trying to wind you up schme - you should know by now that I was not being serious - and I think you did realise, and you didn't rise to the bait... so good on you...

As for 'baby Jesus' being a universal phrase - I would disagree wholeheartedly - no word, phrase, sentence or anything is universal - we live in a world of subjectivity - meaning is what an individual person creates - a word is only what a person chooses it to be - there can be no universal use of a word, as the word does not exist, in anymeanigful sense, beyone the understainding of the individual - you say tomato, I say red vegetable (yes - i know it's a fruit - which is my point - what is a fruit? what is red? what is baby jesus? - they are words, onto which meanings are abscribed - there is no fundamental link betwenn object and language - hence no phrase can ever be universal)
Whoever you vote for.

True enough, true enough. I had not taken any of that into consideration.

What I meant is that it is not solely used for the purpose of making fun of ardent christians in the United States who act on their faith, but rather can be used, and is used, for other meanings.

As for trying to "wind me up", as you claim, if that is the case, I'd appreciate it if you didn't try. I do not try and start arguments just for the hell of it, neither should you. It's not a good idea, and it is not behaviour that a moderator should engage in.
