Once a butterfly landed on a white cloth hat that I had and it wouldn't leave. It just held on with it's little butterfly holding devices. So I put the hat in my locker at school and when I got out of class the butterfly had bled on my hat and it freaked me out. I guess it was dead then, hard to tell.
 I still hate to think about that blood spot.

No one is ever sad when a moth dies. Hardly seems fair, does it?

If they insist on flying into my light and frying... I take no responsibility. Also, moths are far more irritating... what with the random flying around constantly, at least butterflies stop after a while.

I really don't like moths. Or wasps. Or birds. Anything that flies really. Oh, and planes. Don't ask... :?

I don't like to think about baby field mice...

I get some really bad images in my head from this one time when my dad found a mouse nest in some tools in the toolshed at my grandparents farm. Let's just say he didn't have pity on them. Took 'em outside and [image deleted from memory bank].... well... yea... there's a squish involved...

I, being an avid animal lover and young, was crushed... and the cats had a nice meal... :(

Not that I think that they'd have ever survived anyways...

My dad caught a mouse in our house once (the cats must have missed it)
so he fed it to
Image
Engine, my little brother's snake.

Snakes gotta eat too. Although he just stared at it for a while. I think it was too big for him to eat. So then my dad put it outside, and Eliot and Aristotle chased it for a while then let it go. I guess they were bored.

ohh.. pretty snake... though I don't like 'em much... that's a pretty one....

I think that I could've handled just putting them outside for the cats to eat and not ever thought about it again.. just the squish part that got to me...

I had a couple friends who when they caught a mouse or rat in their warehouse or lab, they dipped it in liquid nitrogen and threw them out into the parking lot to shatter on the pavement. At least it was a quick death.

Next time you see your friends, run them down with your car for me, okay?

I take it that you're a vegetarian then? It is sort of gross (throwing it out into the parking lot at least), but it is not particularly cruel. I realize that there is a purpose to it, and I am not a person to try to defend one type of animal over another just because it is cute.

No I am not a vegetarian, BUT I still think that is cruel.. I had mice as pets, along with hampsters, ferrets, lizards, dogs.. *omg did we have alot of dogs* Can't have cats because my youngest son is allergic to cats..

Either way, that was cruel.. Oh and my parents had mice in their house, and they put the sticky traps down. When they were caught my dad took it outside and well.. The smush thing.. *cringes* I swear I hated my father for that..

It is much less painful to kill an animal through instantaneous freezing then the ways that most of the animals you eat are killed. Much faster then slitting throats, cutting vains, gutting, or dipping in boiling water. If you think that is cruel, then I don't see how you can eat animals, seeing as you must realize that every piece of meat you eat came from an animal that was killed in a cruel fashion. The mice have to be removed from that setting because they would disturb important experiments, and make nests in million dollar pieces of equipment.

I feel sort of guilty... but that is kind of amusing...

At the Boy Scout camp I use to work at, some of guys would play golf with mice they found in their stuff. Boy do mice fly really far when hit with a golf club. Mice were pest though at camp. Ever had to clean out a mice or rat nest. Pure disgusting. :( If you think mice are cute then it is obvious you have never had to clean out a nest. And mice get into everything.

Oh, have I ever had to clean out mice nests. We had this huge warren in the wall of my cousin's cabin that had like 12 or 15 mice in it. You are right that it was a revolting job to clean out. I have also had to deal with mice getting into our foodstuffs. Chipmunks get into everything as well, although they don't make the nests like mice do, and they are so much harder to catch. I myself am a bit squeamish, but I have no problem with other people killing animals. I do fine at hunting, all the way until I have shot the elk, then I am done. Let us just say that dissections in school were a nightmare for me (squid, toad, fetal pig, cat, chicken, and cadaver).
