Yeh right, you were 'confused.'

Everyone knows you just didn't want to admit you were from Canada.

I would highly reccomend:

Particle - Launchpad
(very danceable techno/jazz sounding grooves... rather funky at times)

Trey Anastasio - (just about anything released... jazzy, and groovy, with a sweet horn section)

Anything by Phish!!!!!!!!!
Was it for this my life I sought?
Maybe so, maybe not.

DL Incognito - Canada's #1 rapper, from Ottawa. Get 'Audio Coke' or 'Do It Up'.... or if you understand french download 'Savoir Faire'

Classified - The only other (good) Canadian rapper to get a video on BET, from Halifax!! Try 'The Maritimes' for a taste of eastern culture! :D
edit: Or 'No Mistakes' for just a plain out good song.

Necro - most violent music ever... good for a laugh. Try 'Violins of Violence'

Jedi Mind Tricks - mixes classical music with rap to make some sick beats. For whatever reason, even though they're all white americans, the lyrics give me the impression that they are muslim. Try 'I Who Have Nothing'.

Immortal Technique - Has a style similar to that of extremely old rap, that is, opinions on politics and things rather than hos and dubs. Some of his songs kinda sound just like talking though. Try getting 'Beef and Broccoli', not that catchy of a song, but I wholeheartedly agree with the lyrics (bashing some vegetarian things). But as for a good song with a message, get 'Dance With the Devil', which is a pretty grotesque song but it really is deep. Another story telling song is 'You never know'. Listen to the lyrics of both carefully, because they ARE good stories.

And a really good song from a guy I don't listen to... Atmosphere - Love Life
How many times must you prove you're an angel?
How many more demons do you have to strangle?
How must you remain in this dream before I findly find out if you're insane or a genius?

The best band to come out of Canada this millenium:

The Arcade Fire, from Montreal.

Their stuff is mind-blowing, if you're into that sort of thing.
I'm not dead; I'm dormant.
