Alternative to Graveyard... For Now

Postby Snake_byte » Tue Jun 28, 2005 3:29 pm

Well since the project page is searchable, then why not just begin the burying project but don't finish it. It will stay on the projects page but you won't see it unless you're looking for it. So it isn't in the way much anymore. The bodies won't be on the objects page at all, adding to the mass of note and slowing everything down. Unless you end up having a very large "graveyard".
Just a thought.

Um, if you start the burying projects yourself, they're still gonna be on YOUR list, even if no one else does. Actually, burying projects should be visible to all, not just the starter. Because it's not like people were saying MEE Meee this is myyy corpse, I got here first! Don't you dare touch my corpse project! (Even if I wouldn't know who finished it. But I'm keeping an eye on YOU! *points*) Because the corpses are still there somewhere, it's not like you could hide a biiiig smelly problem under the carpet.

In polish cieties we heve over 200 unfinished burying projects. Project page loads extremaly slow. I don't think is a good idea. It changes nothing - bodies are still laying around.

I think burying projects should be cancelled if there are no participants, like resting. Currently it is possible to 'hide' bodies by starting projects and never finishing them.

I think that needs to be changed, especially in light of the new 'visible body' change.

That is a good point. A murder could be covered up simply by starting a burial project.

That is why we need to be able to inspect the body until the burial project is finished. I always imagine the burial project as an open grave with a body in it at 50% and covered with dirt again at 100%.

You try to inspect a body when someone is burying it and there a lot of dirt all over it. You'd have to DIG it up and then clean it off.
If you can see the body all the way to when the project ends, then it doesn't make it very real.
That seems to be the focus of things being implimented and things that everyone wants to see changed. Keeping it real (for lack of better words right now..).
Also, somehow I don't think things are being added to the game to make it harder for criminals.
Actually in my opinion, if it was so hard to be a criminal then no one would want to have their character be one. Sure most of you are thinking "Good!", but it would take A LOT (not all) of the fun of this game away.
Good cannot exist without evil.

Besides it takes more than one person to drag a body...

That would be logical... but my point is that you cannot inspect a burial when it is at 0%. That is an unstarted project... and you should not be able to cover up entire massacres through unstarted burials. If you don't actually do any work on it, then you should not get the benefit of hiding the body.

If you want to hide a body, bury it completely. Just like RL. Now that is real...

Of course I remember burying a body long ago to hide a murder... only for the body to just pop back out of the ground. I almsot got caught... *shudders*
