It could work really well, although there would have to be some restrictions and helps. For example, walking down a good road should be much quicker than trying to cut across untravelled country. Also, imagine the frustrations of having to aim your characters in exactly the right direction and log in at a suitable time to stop them overshooting!

He's got a sort of inverted German thing going on there that is really quite complex. Perhaps he has fully completed the step to the next evolutionary stage of the English language? Methinks I should consider myself obsolete now.
How many people have seen that SNL skit where Mike Myers is playing the little boy wearing a helmet and chained to the jungle gym? He's ADHD and Nicole Kidman gives him a Hershey bar that gets him so hyperactive he tows the jungle gym down the streets of Manhattan.
