hears my idea(actually somone elses, but whose going to know :wink: )..free roaming. like, shure you can stay on the roads, but wile on the roads, you can see what recourses are available, and you can stop, go west, north,south, east, you get it. this way you could make a way point, or taverns on roads that take a long time.

I think I remember a post from Jos pointing out that this was one thing he would like to allow with a graphical version of the game. I'm sure it's long buried by now. (The post that is, not the state of its programming. I can't comment on the idea itself. :D )

This would make chasing thieves even more interesting...not that I want to give them any more help, but it would open up the game a bit more.

Well, With Cantr 3 it's his plan... he mentioned it in the thread Roadmap.

Question on Cantr III....will it be a game reset? I think Jos said he'd work to place buildings near each other depending on players choice but I dont know if I could start over. I just couldnt muster it.

First off, it was to be called Cantr II 2.0, for no obvious reason, and in his post "the roadmap" Jos explains that it's probably not going to happen, but rather that the planned upgrades and implementations from 2.0 are going to come into the current game instead.
