he groans and stumbles to the deck
I don't think I'll ever get the hang of stasis... Sorry everyone.
He looks around and claps his hands together
Right. What have I missed? Have we solved the McCoy issue yet?
He shakes his head
I really pick the worst times to sleep...

she re-adjustest the toolbelt on her dungarees as she sits on one of the chairs on the bridge
The way I see it... By the end of the next stasis cycle, someone's gonna find themselves like Dr. McCoy and Dr. Dragon Slayer she frowns
We can't let that happen... And I'm at a loss to think about what we can do. We know that, whoever did this, has senior staff member access to the computer.
And I don' know how we can lock access to them function unless we lock 'em for all senior staff - which buggers us in an emergency.
And we can't lock anyone up. This ship don' have a fully functioning brig.
We gotta get shot of whoever's doing this, and, like SWYMIR says, we don' have much choice than to expel them from the airlock...
she runs her hand back through her hair and pauses for a moment
So we've gotta be dead sure of who we think it is. And I just don't know...
But, unlike Commander Dee, I'm not sure I'd put my trust in the AI. I know the AI ain't human, but it seems awful pushy to knock one of us out into space. And... Well... What would we loose without SWYMIR? Sure, it'd mean more work to cover his aoutmated tasks when out of stasis, and we'd have o be double careful without his security and emergency systems.
But we have the tandem computer. The Non-AI, so we wouldn't be stranded. I say pull the plug on SWYMIR I don't trust a computer that pushes us to kill each other. I'm not sure how it's doing this. We're in space - anything could be happening. And it;s got total control of our stasis chambers. Who knows what possible things... from out there
looks towards the viewscreen it could be letting on this ship. We can't trust the integrity of the AI. Shut down SWYMIR I say...

RETORT
*None whatsoever. I have to recharge during Stasis. I can not meat system functionality if online during the Stasis cycle. Furthermore I do not have anyway of puncturing flesh Luietenant. I am simply following military protocol and insuring the successful completion of our mission. Every day that a crew member dies are odds of mission success dramatically decreases.

ACCUSATION
*As I am not entirely sure who has committed these murders I will avoid the complication of the popular vote and change my vote to Lt. Farmer as well. I do this not because he wishes me unplugged nor for the fact that his logic is severely flawed as he is human and capable of mistakes. My sole motive is to not complicate the voting system with a tie.

Final tally of votes:
SWYMIR unit: 1 VOTE
Lieutenant Farmer: 3 VOTES
With three votes for Lieutenant Farmer and one vote for shutting down the SWYMIR unit, the crew's judicial voice has spoken. The lieutenant, still protesting that it must be the AI, is removed from the bridge. Dr. Sparkle injects him with a heavy sedative, to show more mercy than the killers had, shortly before he's shoved into the airlock and the airlock cycled. The crew stands by, some unable to turn away from the port-hole, some staring with morbid fascination, as the lieutenant's body spirals out into space.
STASIS BEGINNING. PLEASE RETURN TO STASIS CHAMBERS.
The ship's computer voice comes over the system as the crew returns to their chambers, their minds filled with concern and doubt. They climb into their chambers and activate the stasis cycles, hopeful that the next Wake Cycle will be without incident.
Vampires, coordinate and send me your victim.
Hacker, send me your investigation.
Lock Override, send me your protectee.

ATTENTION. STARDATE 23.6.2505. WAKE CYCLE BEGIN. ALL CREW REPORT TO STATIONS. STASIS CYCLE WILL RE-COMMENCE IN SIX DAYS, AT 29.6.2505.
The crew comes out of stasis, wary but glad to be alive. Many of the crew members quickly report in to the duty roster so they won't be considered missing.
It is a sad fact of the space service that, even on an interstellar vehicle, the lowest-ranking officers, technicians Mr. Floyd and Mr. Nixit, must share a crew quarter. Their stasis chambers crowd out almost all the personal space they might otherwise have inside. Photographs of loved ones on Earth are attached to various surfaces of the cramped quarters, yet the two men share an easy camaraderie.
So when Mr. Floyd wakes first and alone, the fear that grips him is almost palpable. His hand goes to the comm signal when he sees Mr. Nixit's stasis chamber, the glass window cracked as if some violent beast had tried to break its way in... or out. Long scratches on the stainless steel chamber's exterior tell the story of even greater violence and anger. And yet, when the system stasis-end signal goes out, Mr. Nixit's chamber begins to cycle, just as all the others. It opens.... to reveal Mr. Nixit, healthy and hale, though a bit groggy before his breakfast.
Still, the evidence is clear... something tried to get at Mr. Nixit last night!

*she walks to the bridge after hearing the news, very upset at the news.. she paces slightly* I have a question.. When is Captain Surly planning on helping with this investigation? *sighs* I hate to say it, but I would like to say that the Captain seems to always be tired.. *she looks around, where is the Captain? Is he still sleeping?
*she stops for a moment* SWYMIR where is the Captain at? Can you locate him for us please? I think he should help with this investigation..

*walks out, shaking in fear* Yes, I would very much like to know if our captain is actually willing to help find this murderer who almost killed me last stasis!
*crumbles against the wall* ...this isn't how I imagined this life when I first joined...
