Returning to an Activity

Postby Hagan » Sun Jun 19, 2005 2:43 am

Just a quick question.. we all know how that if you start a project and stop it you just have to go to activity to resume.

Lately I have been trying to clear up all of the unfinished projects that were abour a mile long list it seemed... but I am beginning to see why it got that way I live away back in the woods and have dial up that is not so fast you see.. so when I want to work on an unfinished project I have to click Activilties then search and wait for what seems like ever when your trying to spare your minutes. I have to stop projects a number of times to step inside for someone else or for this or that so to return to the unfinished project I am trying to finish I have to go through it all aain and it is really annoying to waist minutes because of that....

SO my question is ... Is there anyway that once you participate in a project rather you initiate it or resume it from an unfinished list that it would then be found in your own Activity list without having to go through the whole search thing again...

I do think it would help cut down on all the unfinished Projects if anyone other than myself have noticed the delay in working on unfinished projects

Just a thought
Who wants to be normal...... Normal means you are with the majority.. and I dont want to be with them......

You don't have to load all the projects. You can just type in, like, "pot" and see the potato projects. That saves me a lot of time when I'm looking for 0% projects that I can cancel.

I'd love it if the date the project was started was attached to the Project list. I can usually remember that the project I was trying to finish was in the 1060's or so.

So, instead, you'd see something like:

Farming Potatoes (1098--a woman in her twenties)
Farming Potatoes (1163)

This has probably been brought up before. Curse me for joining the game and the Forum so late in Cantr life!

Late? Not at all, we're just getting started.

How about being able to adopt unfinished projects...Like when people die.

You can already finish those projects, and claim them, anyways. Or do you mean have it end up in your inventory?

Have it end up in your inventory...or just have it under your name or whatever.

But it's all the same even if the initiator just goes away instead of dying. So if you were for example building a boat and noticed oops I need one more load of wood and went to the forest to gather, when you came back you might find someone claiming it's their project and after it finished they would get the key. But ain't project starter information that kind of programmed in ownership that wasn't supposed to be in Cantr? Because if you start a project then you'll get the result in you inventory no matter who works on the project and no one can take the things from you unless you die.

Ah...but a new form of thievery.....
A person is 98% finished with thier project, but takes off after a thief...you step in, finish the project and it goes into your own inventory...no one knows who finished this project as you never need to pick it up! Bussiness people all over Cantr will be losing product as thier workers would get the product instead of them ! soooo...
People working for others will wind up having to work behind locked doors thus creating more of a slavery senario...
At least when the product needs to be picked up, you have a chance of getting back your stolen goods.

Back to the original topic...it would be nice to beable to return to an abandoned project...some places have 20+ unfinished (rice) projects, you go inside after hunting to unload your inventory...come back out and have to search for it...although I have found a way to remember which was the one I was working on...it still can be slow waiting for the searched activities to load...(thank goodness for cable)

Edited: to add more instead of creating a new post...
