Muskets, they are about the same tech level and capablity as the compound bow. Maybe requiring more iron but less wood?

Is there any real point in having a musket other than to satisfy the givemeagunanygun lust? I mean, will it do anything better than a crossbow or sabre could do? Will it be able to hit people who are further down the road or anything like that?

Since we can't get medicines until those exotic herbs are found, then the musket should need the ingredients to make gun powder and lead for the musket balls. And they should only be found on distant, undiscovered islands.

I'm spoiling everybodys fun cause I'm sick of all the emphasis on new weapons (which are pointless anyway since there's hardly any violence) and the lack of emphasis on other things like useful furniture for example or those cabins and crates for boats or interesting mixtures of food that could give chars extra health or less tiredness.

I know different people handle different aspects of development but I feel like we have plenty of weapons already. How about a dresser that can be locked or that board for holding notes so they can't be stolen?

Maybe we could add stone weapons. Like a stone spear. Maybe a stone warhammer. Stone weapons could maybe be a little more affective that bone weapons, because stone cant be found everywhere, while bones can. I think a whole line of stone weapons would be a good addition to the game. Maybe the proggramers could put in a stone club also.. I would be whacking some people in the heads with that. Go cave-man on them. Maybe put in a wood club also....
Micheal Jackson sucks.
Or is it our legal system?

I like that idea... a stone club might be a bit heavy, but I really like the idea of a spear with a stone spearhead. Many ancient peoples used flint to make their arrow-heads and dart-points.

Not long ago, in my archaeology class, we had a guy come in and show us how to flint-knap (sp?). All he used were some pieces of antler and a rounded rock to shape the piece of flint into an arrow-head. It was pretty neat. Looked just like an ancient arrow-head you'd find in a museum too.

Stone was one of the most basic materials used for not only tools, but weapons. So it would be kinda cool to have some more weapons that involved stone instead of bone or metal.

A stone club would have to be hafted, which basically makes it look like the stone hammer.

The idea about the musket is it doesn't have a skill check but does fixed damage allowing weaker people to do damage on par with a skilled archer. And it would shut up all these gun nuts.

The thing with old guns was that it took ages to reload them, so you could only fire a musket once in a battle and after that the ones who didn't get shot would attack you with swords.

Would that be possible with current programing? I think the weapons should be broken down into three types: Fast, Medium and slow. Fast things like daggers could be able to attack twice a day, medium like longbows and longswords could attack at the normal rate and slow weapons like firearms and crossbows could fire once every 1.5days.

The chinese had automatic crossbows with magazines long before Europe even knew how to make a crossbow. Crossbows are quicker to load anyway, or at least as quick as a longbow.

Crossbows of the power that we have in cantr would usually require a windlass to reload, and take the same amount of time to fire reload and fire again as a musket. Tests at the royal armouries show a comparison of seven longbow shots to two from the other weapons.

Cantr's crossbow is unlike the chinese crossbow in that the chinese fires small higher velocity quarrels and requires much more complex construction. The cantr bow is similar to a middleages european crossbow, from about the time of Agincourt, which was out matched by the longbow due to shorter range and rate of fire.

Sorry, Kinvoya, but I only deal in the weapons and protection department without having to get permission. Right now I'm working on logs and planks but I need permission for anything to be implemented which takes ages to do.

i mean, put the helmit, and 'stuff' under protection. its just that simple. there cloths, but there mostly protection, so they should be counted as protection.
