A Question about Healing

Is strength recorded as a rounded value by the game, or is it only displayed that way? For example, when you eat a small quanity of a healing food and it says you have gained 0 percent strength, are you wasting the food, or have you simply made a <.5% change in your strength?

If you examine the properties tab of the the strength graphic, you will see the answer. Apparently, you can indeed be damaged some fraction of a percent.
