That's complete rubbish. So we're not allowed to even say things like that anymore? People will look it up anyway, what's the harm in leaving it there?
Does the post at any point say anything more than what could be found with a simple search? No. Therefore, leave it be.
Seriously, you people need to get a life... stop censoring/moderating things that don't need it. Geez...

Insulting people doesnt really make your point heard, tends to make them ignore you.
The use of resources, tools needs to be found out in game. If they look it up thats fine, only that info cannot be used in-game which really will be ignored therefore using ooc info in game breaking the rules. It has always stood that the use of resources, tools and machines be found out in game and it needs to stay like that, the info does not need to be shared. Please do your job and edit it.

This forum is not for jokes, Jur.
High staffers have said before that it's not allowed to do things like this.
For instance, you could find out on the internet that you can break down doors with CROWBARS!!!
It doesn't matter that we say things on the forum anymore, I guess?
CROWBARS BREAK LOCKS, EVERYONE!!!

I know what a crowbar does. I know what sorghum is for. I know what a wrench is for. I know what potatoes are. I know what carrots are...
How are the first three any different from the last two? Either everything needs to be found out IC... in which case give everything fictional names like "Flumblegump" or somesuch... or you allow people to level the playing field. I know what some things are for, that some people don't. Does that give me an advantage because they cannot look it up, but I already know? Or do I have to say "my character doesn't know what food is. That's ooc information. Language, that's ooc information. Everything has to be done in character"? I am willing to bet your characters knew what food was when they spawned, Nick/Brandon. Correct? How is that any different?
Don't tell them to do their job, Brandon. You go and do your PD work, and let the CD do their's. If they choose not to moderate, that is their decision. Not yours.

I would also be interested in hearing a definitive answer to this. I know what both sorghum and bauxite are used for in real life, and although I try to play my characters as though they don't know, it does and will continue to unconsciously influence the the choices of my characters, say if one of my characters could actually afford the machine that uses bauxite, however much it hurts me to say it, I doubt they would experiment with this machine unless they were near bauxite. That might be be an abuse of OOC knowledge, but it is one that I can't really help, and that is knowledge that I don't even have to look up (being a student of chemical engineering gives you some scientific knowledge). Back to the question at hand, are we supposed to not know the difference between stone and food, and if so, where is the line where the use of OOC logic becomes a CRB?

The line is wavy, Talapus, on issues like this.
And I disagree with the sentiment of censoring all knowledge that could be used IC. Sorghum itself is not descriptive enough to know what it is and what it could be used for. Back when my characters first came across sorghum I looked it up and found out it was a grass of some type.
I would like to see description of objects and resources in game or even pictures. Descriptions and pictures don't tell us what an object is but can tell us what it might be used for and it would be realistic to the nature of the game.
I already made this suggestion to Resources. Perhaps we might see this someday.

Nick, pour the piss off your cornflakes and get a new bowl man. It's not that big a deal.
I used to argue on your side. But I've read threads like this arguing the same points since the old forums.
It's not allowed to put IC information on the forum. Even how much carrots you eat in a day, even though pretty much everyone knows that. Because if not, where would we draw the line?
