Cool. I've been watching the previews getting excited about it. It's great to hear that there is good potential for actual plot to it. Maybe I'll make an extra effort to actually get to a theater for once. Most of my new movies come out of the $5 DVD bin at Wal-Mart.

Darkman 2: Return of Durant!
Quite possibly the worst, yet also the best, film I've ever seen.
But I could have been very drunk at the time.
Quite likely now I think about it...

Did anyone here get to see Sideways? I need to go check out the DVD, it looks very interesting and everything I have heard is good. I've been a big fan of Thomas Hayden Church ever since he played Loel on Wings. Great show that also delivered Tony Shaloub (now of Monk fame).
Another great Thomas Hayden Church film is The Specials. I've spotted it on Sci-Fi channel a few times. Great stupid funny.

Just saw "Friday Night Lights". I think it was a good movie. Somewhat of a cultural shock since up North high school sports aren't big like they are down in Texas or elsewhere in the country. And I can't believe the money the schools must waste on these sports rather than education. I hear they get sponser but still shouldn't school be about education rather sports? I personally think that sports have no place in school.

Bit of a throwback but, who cares.
The tink I disliked about troy was how it deviated from the iliad, and how a lot of people will now belive that is the real story. In terms of fighting though, the film was quite good, even if I have some negative comments on the stratagys employed.
Missy wrote:Im still very stuck on how good of a movie Troy was. (Well it got poor reviews, but I can't see why. I think ebert and roper need laid and are just jealous of how many women like Brad Pitt.) I honestly thought the acting was good. But who am I.

I thought Troy was brilliant - admitidly not very true to Homer - but could you really expect it to be? They managed to make it feel like an epic though...
Along the same lines - Lawrence of Arabia is fantastic - only because, unlikle the CG soldiers in Troy - all those people are real
I can't wait to see the HHGTTG film - I hope it does it justice...

I was really looking forward to it, but everything I have heard about the film has been negative. I've now seen the trailer, and I have to agree with the most common comment I have heard, the have changed it a lot. I'll still go to see it, but I'm not so hopeful for a good film now...
