Surly, and anyone else wanting to send me a number.... don't. I'm not assigning roles based on numbers.
Instead, tell me what kind of person you like to role-play. For instance:
Do you like to play a leader?
Do you like to play the comedian?
Do you like to play characters who are upper-class?
Do you like to play character who are more educated? Less educated?
For instance, in tabletop RPGs, I personally enjoy playing characters in leadership roles, because I tend to be very talkative and take charge anyway, but the bookseller role in Whitechapel was a perfect fit for me, being the bookworm that I am in real life.
If you don't like your profession, you can't petition for re-assignment, sorry. Most of the professions will be flexible enough for anyone to RP; there are a few that make more sense if you already enjoy playing that kind of character.
And, again-- these profession assignments have nothing to do with the secret identities of the characters, which are not hand-picked, but will be randomly assigned.

When you say tabletop RPGs... is that what I would call pen & paper RPGs? For instance, d20 games?
I'm sure my most successful d20 characters say something about me...
(all these are different campaigns)
Aral - Thief/mage
Rorian - Thief/assassin
Ilithar Trueblade - Fallen Paladin/Blackguard
Xisic Corial - Dark Jedi
Darvan Valinor - Wilder/Shen en Rahien
So... I like power, no matter how it comes...

I always roleplay the insane/crazy person and enjoy it a lot. My favorite all time recurring character (who, interestingly enough, I haven't made in Cantr) is a simple wanderer whe believes he's the king of a far off land with intricate stories of why he can't return there. Anyway, yeah, the insane/village idiot kind of character is what I want, but I guess I can do anything and have fun with it.

Well... not deliberately. I mean, I played Ilithar as a paldin up to level 12. But somehow all my characters seem to be seduced by the 'dark side'. Well... Xisic was anyway...

Roleplay is awesome. I learned it from a pretty cool MUD called 4 Dimentions, which has a pretty heavy emphasis on roleplay. I have, since then, wanted to run my own RP forum, and utilize my own RPed combat system, in which the winner is not determined by dice or number generators, but by the player's roleplaying skills. It isnspired by T1 roleplay battle, used in a game called Red Dragon Inn, except mine governs character abilities with a simple attribute system.
The point is, I love roleplaying.
