So long and good luck.

After 2 and a half years of Cantr I’ve sadly had to unsubscribe, due to some severe health problems within my family.
I’ve really enjoyed my time here, and hopefully I can get back to it later in the year, but for now my time has to be elsewhere and focused on other things.

I’d like to thank all the staff members who work so hard to make this game what it is, especially Annette, my G.A.B. partner.
Also, huge thanks to the players whom I’ve had so much fun interacting with over the last couple of years, in particular all those who enhanced and stretched my own characters, and made me work hard to keep up with the high standard of role-playing expressed by others.
There are some truly excellent role-players associated with Cantr, and I sincerely hope that it continues to grow in strength as time progresses.
I already miss my own characters, especially Valentine Dangle of Sjoftich, Veronica Mince of Blojt, Lance Ferret, Bogs Binny, Geronimo Smith and Gladrina Albright. Pongo Clementine, Everton Minty, Seren Templar and some others I’ve probably forgotten. I would really have liked to have developed them all to higher levels, but without good role-players around them they wouldn’t have been a fraction of what they were.
It’s been a real adventure, and I hope I can come back to the game in the near future.
Good luck to you all, and keep the Cantr flag flying.

Kev Milsom.

I noticed your name had been removed from the staff page a few days... I wondered what had happened...

It's always a shame to lose someone who has had such a great role within the game, and I wish you all the best. :(

Some of those characters I enjoyed RPing with, even if I hadn't seen any of those names in years...

So long Kev. And good luck for the future.

Aww.... Captain Val and Geronimo Smith were sure among the best encounters in Cantr. (Too bad they weren't single... *blush*) What happened to Geronimo after he left Sjoftich after Tamara's death? He didn't seem to have much will left to live.

When his beloved Tamara died, Geronimo never really mentally recovered from it.
He tried to find some solace in the sea and sailed for a long time, eventually ended up in Blaman. His weakening mental state caused him to pursue a path of crime, and he stole as many things from the town as possible.
He briefly went to Hilloi and the hills around there, again with theft in mind, before feeling the need to sail back to the church in Sjoftich, where his soul mate was buried.
After paying respects to his wife, he journeyed to Sjoftich Forest and stayed there a while.
He was pondering a life as a pirate, and steeling himself to take another life as he returned to Sjoftich where he was killed by a wild pig, as he was about to board his ship.
It was probably the best thing for him, as he really didn’t want to be around since Tamara’s death, and I think he left a few entries in his diary about his feelings.
I enjoyed playing him, but it was mainly the role-playing skills of Tamara’s player that really changed and developed him. Once she was gone, he just couldn’t go on…and aside from Maline and Junesun, he never saw anything in anyone that would have made him remotely happy.

Yes, Valentine had a profound influence in the whole concept of colonization, and was a true leader in his day. Too bad fate took him from Sjo so suddenly and abruptly. That said, even if you thought Wen was a wee bit irritating in the RP props topic.

Kev, it was truly a pleasure and a great experience working with you, and playing with you. I owe so much to you, and I will never forget it. (And hopefully I won't have to.........*drags him back, regardless of the kicking and screaming* (when you're ready, of course  hehehe

Valentine has been missed for a long time, and if Xanith hadn't died in his arms, she surely would have taken her own life out of unbearable grief. If she were still alive, she would be sadly missing Lancelot, Bogs, and Geronimo. Now Veronic is being sadly grieved, her tomb soon to be built beside Catherine's. *sighs* Lance is truly a mess.

Take care, my friend. All our prayers are with you and your family.

Annette
