I can understand that, you try to be nice people and change the topic by adding "general chat" to the thread. :!:

I also believe that, this is the best way to close this thread. (+1)

I spent a lot of effort on CANTR and to create Turkish community (LD knows how hard i work on it), so i just wanted to be everything perfect for Turkish newcomers. This arguments "adds" nothing to our beautiful CANTR Community. So i will not talk on this topics anymore.

There are some paragraphs that i do not want to "quote" and embarrass Seko anymore. But it is important to mention that, they are not the proper words to chose. Let us all be careful PLEASE.

This is the last word I say on this thread. I will not judge anybody for his prejudiced behaviours on other threads.

Goodbye (for now).

Gyrus, I really like you and I think it's great that you have started a Turkish language area.

Just keep in mind that on every forum there will be people who say things you won't like. There are things that get said that I don't like, also. Sometimes I argue about them and sometime I just ignore them.

When you're interacting with people there will always be differences of opinions and people saying things that you might find offensive but they don't understnd why you feel that way. The only way to avoid that is to never interact with anyone at all on the internet or in rl. :D

I, personally, know a very cute young woman who traveled alone in Turkey for several months when she was 21 and she never had any problems. She said it was one of the best places she's ever visited as far as the people being nice and friendly and helpful and kind.

Lord knows, Kinvoya has said plenty that I disagree with... not worth the argument though. Especially with my newfound ability to dig myself into holes in mere moments... :P

Ah, well, I guess I'm just fortunate to be deemed unworthy of your, no doubt, withering repartee. Thank you for sparing me, Surly one.

:D

Seriously though, it's not that you're unworthy... just that I have exams at the moment, exams I need to pass to continue my degree. You'll get your chance to be on the end of my "withering repartee" in good time. Just you wait...

Anyway, the point is that not everything has to be an argument. As I've shown in this thread, knowing when to keep your mouth shut is an useful skill. And one I sorely lack... :P

Gyrus, threads go off topic, quite regularly... This was in no way intended to diminish the importance of the argument and your feelings. But kinvoya just expressed what I've pointed out before in other places. Someone will always disagree with you, and some people will always think things that hurt you (and you don't have to find that out on the internet). And, more often than that, you will not be able to change what they think.
If I got upset everytime I read or heard something that hit at my beliefs and identity, whether it by political beliefs, moral beliefs, my sexuality or so on. I would spend the whole of my life being upset and angry.
A lot of people that say upsetting things, are just not worth getting upset about.
