Percentages as well as bars

Postby formerly known as hf » Mon May 30, 2005 8:57 pm

The description bars now also have percentages next to them. I was wondering if this was intended?

I would think so.

P.S. It's a good change, me thinks.

Um... why have the bars if we have percentages? We really only need one or the other...

Well I know some people simply count the pixels of the bar to find out how injured they are.

Instead of having people circumvent the system, why not keep the percentages?

I don't care either way. Anyways, on a related matter, we should probably pass a "no complaining" rule on the forums.

I prefere both, the percentage means we can see the accurate value(I need to eat that much to heal), but the bar is easier for relitive values (I'm less hurt than him, maybe I should heal him).

I'd agree, I wasn't really complaining, just idly wondering...

Or they could just have looked at the pictures properties and read it down to the nearest hundreath of a percent.

Those people are idiots...

Previous to this, you only had to right click on the bar and click properties, and it will show you the value...

That's what I meant by counting pixels.

Now, as for counting each and every pixel, or using a ruler or something of the sort, that's something I'd do. :P

The latter you were talking about sounds much more like counting pixels, than viewing the properties does.

Why not turn any complaining into constructive critisim? Why do you like/not like the bars and/or percentages?

I really don't mind one way or the other. I can function just as well in either system, although it be nice if the percentages rounded instead of truncating.
Reality was never my strong point.

I much prefer the bars, as I have said before, anything that removes numerical description from Cantr is good by me. It feel un-natural to ahev a 'percentage' of damage, and has too much of an MUD feeling...

Either way works of me..but if I had to choose, I would choose the bars...my reasoning, because I am use to seeing the bars...and just prefer it that way
