More Dynamic Naming

Postby Sarah » Sat May 28, 2005 8:36 pm

I want to dynamically name everything. :) But, only after we can get some different link colors . . . some orange is okay, but too much orange is not good.

I want to name keys, tools and weapons, resources . . .

I'd like an option (maybe on the manufacturing list?) to change the default name of entire groups of items. I do not like the new names of tools and weapons, and it makes no sense for characters to suddenly call them something different, when their entire lives they have been called something else.

Then, I'd like a "see more information" button on everything to see the deterioration status of things and any specific name I want to add to it. How can we have museums housing historically important objects or worship particular objects when we can't distinguish one from the other?

I like the idea of having some way to distuinguish ancient weapons as relics but if it were to change the name of it for everyone it should be like an added plaque or something that you put on the weapon or tool.

a person whohas no plaque on there items you would see this

You can see her holding:
a used composite recurve bow;
a used dung-fork;
a new steel sabre;
a used wooden shield.

one with a plaque would look like this

You can see her holding:
a used composite recurve bow;
a used dung-fork(Property of YOURBUISNESSNAMEHERE);
a new steel sabre(King Aradon's Blade);
a used wooden shield.

this would help catch thieves to theyd have to remove the plaque with a chisel or something but if you remove a plaque from a relic it becomes useless and it would have to be programmed so each plaque can only be used once or people could make conterfeits this way if you want to use them to identify a buisnesses tools you'd just use a serial number. . . ill stop typing now

Oh no, I wouldn't like that. It's very useful for organizational leaders to be able to check up on whether their members are keeping their items in repair, so at least one of my charries would go nuts if she had to examine their items individually one at a time.

And I like the textual description of deterioration rates now. I rather dislike how easy it is to calculate a lot of things in Cantr. I'd hate to sell items in Cantr, and have it like an RPG.

"Sellling a steel sabre, 30/34 durability, +49 attack +20 accuracy"

Ugh...
