Is it possible to talk to someone on another boat while on one in the open sea?

Jos, not to come off topic, but does living in Dublin mean you have that trendy Irish accent? Just curious if everyone has that same accent everyone associates with Ireland.

Jos is Dutch. But it might be like the southern US where if you stay even but a week down there you begin to speak like them with that souther drawl and speaking slowly and all.

Ah reckon it might be.

But I doubt it. Maybe only for us impressionable northerners with no accents of our own

(accents are like bad habits...they're what everyone else has)

To the English and Southern people we do have an accent. It is called Yankee. We speak with an Yankee accent.

It's natural to think that you don't have an accent.

I was born and bred in southern England (Kent, London and Sussex), and I never thought of myself as having an accent. But apparently I do... the southern accent...

Bizarre, ain't it?

I really think I don't have one. At least as far as accents go in the US. No texan or southern drawl, no bronx or lawnguyland accents. Serenity knows, we talk normally 'round hurr. :)

Well, the hicks around here can barely speak at all. You know we had that Averill Park edumacation. Well, actually most people drop out of school where I live. So to even go to a Community College and get a two year degree is a big thing around here. Unless you have rich parents that can buy your education. Which reminds, I have loans to pay. Anyone want to help?

My family is from Brooklyn and speak Brooklynese or something like that. It's like a cross between Irish, Spanish, and German accent of English I think. Not really sure what it is suppose to be.

Yeah, Av. Park has a few issues....I remember one incident involving an enormous hazing issue that was really creepy....*shudders* I just can't look an APer in the eye anymore, its all weirdness.

No, I don't think I picked up the Dublin accent (yet) ;) ... I fear I still have a Dutch accent when speaking English, but it's not too bad, I think. I'm very slow in picking up accents :) ...

Hearing the Dublin/Irish accent does start to make me feel at home, though ;) ...

My english friends in Ontario tell me I have a French accent.
My french friends say I have an english accent.
My Nova Scotian friends say I have an Ontario accent.

I guess that's moving a lot, for you.
