French in Kwor

Postby mikki » Thu May 26, 2005 12:02 am

179-4: a woman in her twenties says: "Stop teasing her Joren"

1179-4: Joren says: "French Madamoiselle"

1179-4: Joren says: "Je parle le francais"

1179-4: You see Joren talking to Katrina.

1179-4: Joren says: "EVERYBODY NOW!"

1179-4: Katrina says: "*laughs and smiles as everyone is joining in*"

I would like to know how a man in his twenties who is in an english speaking area, can possibly know french.

It's possible, but so far up the improbable meter that it almost reaches impossible.
I'd say the guy just needs a message to his player page from the PD regarding this, and that should do it.

Yeah, that doesn't really change the facts any more.
We can assume he is not a character who has sailed to the French island, mastered French, and returned.
So we can assume he's breaking the rules. And since it's of no benefit to him, we can assume he doesn't know what he's doing is wrong.
So again, a simple message to the player page is the best thing to do. I assume.

How do the Language rules work? if your bilingual and you are on an english island and you meet a spanish person do you have to act like you dont understand them?

Sickgerm > Your character is supposed to only know the langauge that you signed them up for, but the odd word/phrase in another language, one which is of common use anyway, is ok.

The above is puching it a bit though...

Some of my French born characters legitimately know a little bit of Dutch.

I've been debating whether to post about Julia/Felia and Jeron myself. There seems to be a lot of IC/OOC crossover with them, like they're really good friends in real life and haven't quite made the leap that that's irrelevant IC. They introduced themselves as "old friends" as I recall, and make references to all sorts of things that they shouldn't have IC, like houses (entered by ** rather than using the in-game function), sandwiches and things. It just smacks of not having understood, no real intent to breach any rules. I'm sure a little explanation from the Powers That Be will do the job.

And I would like to know where Joren made those sandwhiches, I've been looking for a good sandwhich shop in Kwor. Maybe I'll need to try that Quizno's in KDF.

Oh but you can't forget, there is a bird that is friendly, and that Felia and Joran mixed up their conversations which would tell me that possibly they are the same player? I would check but I am not on the PD anymore..

Felia came around and Joren immediately followed after being quiet the past few days, and I mean they were within minutes of each other. Definately the same person. Also, Joren made mention of a mother and pretended to be in a different town without leaving.

Umm... well it wasn't actually addressed to you, unless you play those charectors?

Please stop them, they yammer away to each other and say each others lines and talk of OOC things....its now becoming troublesome.

EDIT: And *You all see Felia reading the webzine*

Then Joren yammers about that too. Will I be in CRB if I kill them because I know they are in CRB using OOC knowledge?
